Unfortunately slows the other animation on some slower computers. Can it be initialized in 2d?

In fact it is already 2D. The 3D is simulated using scale and speed variations. Just lower the amount of snowflakes.

Instead of using this as a “snow” I am trying to make it look like leaves are falling. but I need multiple colors leaves. How would I best achieve this?

Make three leaves in the snowflakes movieclip, put each one on a different frame. Add some random then on the first frame of the movieclip :

gotoAndStop(int(Math.random()*3))

It will randomly select a frame between the first and the third. It should do the trick.

I looked through all the comments and haven’t seen this answer – is there an easy way to dynamically change the amount of snowflakes? Currently, it seems like i would need to remove all the movieclips and then re-initialize…not a way to go from 1500 to 0 dynamically? Thanks.

There is no function like that implement yet. You can do it yourself however, with a function that fades the snowflakes one by one over time until there is no one left. Or you can block the function that reposition the snowflakes out of the screen to make it deleting them.
