@ kokoseen:

I’ve been using this file for about a year and suddenly got that error today. I used this to fix the error: $fullpath = ‘http://’ . $_SERVER[‘HTTP_HOST’] . $_SERVER[‘REQUEST_URI’];

But now my configuration file (am_config.xml) is not loading. I have not figured that one out yet.

Help appreciated!

10 out of 10. Amazing file. I chopped and modded and branded it, and used it as a admin for a new site. Client thinks I am a code monkey god. One question, is the security MD5 ? Just curious.

I would love to try this out, but the preview doesn’t work. We’re actively searching for an online WYSIWYG html generator, so please email me if there is a preview available: jakefallon@hotmail.com.

Thanks!

jakefallon,

This file isn’t a WYSIWYG editor. It manages files and can edit text (XML, TXT , HTML, etc). It doesn’t generate HTML via WYSIWYG .

It would be amazing if it had a WYSIWYG functionality.

Reported the issue above 7 months ago and still no resolution and no help from the author. I would not recommend purchasing because you don’t have the confidence that it will work or help from the author to back up their work.

Josh, maybe you should download a fresh version and try it. I was having problems if the directories that the swf was pulling from were all blank. When I put a random file in each of the folders that were writing to, it worked.

Some of that php filepath stuff can be a bear. It is all relative. So if you move a file “downstream” or “upstream” you have to change the number of ../ you do to change back and forth. I don’t think you can reference them with absolute urls. Hope you fix your problem.

I have resolved one issue with this in that it uses long super globals that PHP has deprecated. If you’re using a new version of PHP you’ll likely need to make adjustments to it.

But now I’m having an issue with it not loading the “am_config.xml” file. The preloader loads to 100% but never goes beyond that. Has anyone else had this issue? And if so, how did you fix it?

It’s unfortunate the author is allowed to sell a product that needs code adjustments to work.

Thanks!

Anything like that is custom work to be done on a freelance basis, for which I charge $60/hr and am not always available for. But any web dev freelancer could follow the instructions to set it up, it was not designed to take much knowledge to set up assuming you have a fairly standard server you are putting it on.

This does do uploading of files, and you define which types of files it can upload (so as long as you tell it zip files are ok to upload, it will let you upload zips). But it does not create folders. It works on a system of only working within folders that are pre-defined for it to work with (you decide which folders when you set up the CMS ). This is both for security reasons and for ease of use to a non-technical user reasons. Creating a folder from the CMS is counter to that idea, so isn’t a feauture it has.

Hi

That’s the basic idea. But there’s no way to make a really custom CMS that applies in general to any template/site because each one gets edited differently depending on how it was programmed. So this takes a slightly more generic role of being able to manage files and edit text based files like HTML /CSS or XML , that way it can apply to any site.

Great feedback MBMedia. Thanks for that. So, if the site get his data updated via xml files, your asset managment creation may work in general, right? Thanks again.

Yep, it’s kind of a give & take scenario: in order to make it applicable to any random pre-existing site it really just provides the services of an FTP program/file manager and a text based code editor in an online easy/quick to access form. Which means it’s by no means a CMS that could be called “website editing for dummies”, but at the same time that makes it generic enough that if your site is driven by any text based files such as XML , HTML, CSS , JS, etc then it can edit it (excluding server side files like php and asp, it doesn’t edit those by default for security reasons).
