Wondering if anyone else is having trouble getting RSS URLs with query strings to work properly. For example, something like this:
news.google.com/news?pz=1&cf=all&ned=ca&hl=en&topic=h&num=3&output=rss
seems to break for me.
in the 3rd line add the following before semicolon:
$_GET['feedUrl'];
to get this:
$_GET['feedUrl'].$_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'];and that’ll do it.
just bought this and cant access feed
useRemoteFeed=’yes’ localFeedUrl=’news.xml’ remoteFeedUrl=’www.henohenomoheji.jp/freesia/atom.xml’ All blank
What am I doing wrong
Cheers
I have uploaded the original files here all file names are the same as when i got it hope this helps http://henohenomoheji.jp/test/
hi long time i got it up and working sorry to be such a bug but how would i go about installing japanese characters it will not display the ones on my blog i would be so gratefull if you could help me
how do i change the date format for RSS feed items?
instead of “Mon, 05 Jul 2010 07:53:02 – 0500” i want it to display like “July 05, 2010”
Will this auto refresh ?
I am very interested in this product, however I am looking for something a little more robust.
A few examples of a package you could release (which would sell hot) should contain the following:
1) Ability to easily scale. 2) Ability to scroll with mousewheel. 3) Auto refreshing. 4) Possibly including expandable windows for each RSS feed so all the news is delivered on one page.
Good stuff though.
Hello,
I seem to have the same issue as one of the gentleman. I am putting my url into the remoteFeedUrl Section of the xml document, and flipping the useremotefeed to yes, but I get nothing but a blank black screen. Could you guide me through this? the RSS feed I wish to use is .. http://newsandinsight.thomsonreuters.com/legal/bankruptcy/rss/Feed/News/Thanks.
Actually, I was able to get the feed working, however the remoteFeedUrl section seems to be the only setting I can adjust when embedding this into an html page. Ive tried to change the settings for the background color of the actual news real, on mouse over and out, etc.. but none of them take. However, when I changed back to a local feed, the changes seemed to take effect. Do adjustments in the settings xml document not effect embedded newsplayers?
Also, I tried to change the background color in flash. After successfully changing the background color, I get no newsplayer, but instead a message telling me I need to update my flash player? I have the most current. I have tried saving the flash file in CS4 and CS5 formats and still get the same thing?
Any thoughts on background color and adjustments for embedding? Thanks.
And, I have figured it out the two above posts. For anybody else who needs to know, for some reason, regardless of cache clearing and page refreshes, colors and size were not taking via xml document. However, whenever I restarted my pc, the changes took place well. Also dont forget to make appropriate css changes to the flashcontent id tag in your html, or make a new rule if needed. (And also keep in mind that you must upload your files to a server that is capable of php to test the remote feed option. I know this sounds noobish, but there are beginners. :D)
