Didn’t see you for a longgggggggggggg time :P

Cool one …..

Thanks! I’ve had this sitting around at about 90% complete for the last 3 months and figured I’d better finish it up and get something new up while I was the author of the week.

... though, for some reason the preview isn’t working for me… it seems like it must be for you, since you’re giving positive feedback!

Joe once you test the first sample ,You can’t play the second sample so… just need a page refreshing on each sample

Yeah dude, that’s not cool. I mean, the preview isn’t displaying the content correctly. I can see the thumbs, but that’s it. From that, it looks like it would be quite a nice image rotator. Its a pity man. This happens too often.

Yeah, I don’t get it… files get rejected very quickly due to minor things like file naming convention and there’s all these checks and balances for quality files… but, then when stuff like this happens nothing gets done. You’d think having a broken preview would be something that they’d want to fix right away. Does no good to have face-time on the homepage when nobody can see it working.

Anyways, I did post a link to my site with a working example: http://www.metaphorcreations.com/banner/

I hope people will recognize the strength of this! It is so well-designed, and practical! :)

Thanks! I know there are many other banner rotators on here that have more options… but, I think this is pretty functional as a banner rotator as well as a basic project gallery.

Don’t worry as long as your file has something new or unusual, or more than anything else to offer, it was worth creating! :)

I need help. This works fine locally but the minute I upload it online it does not work. Am I missing something?

The SWF Object is forbidden and if I try to load preview.swf online it shows black again everything works fine locally. But not online.

Can you post a link to the file on your site? It sounds like either a permissions issue on your server, or something to due with javascript access. Do other flash files run on your site?

Thanks for the fix Joe. Amazing file! For anyone who may encounter my issue check the permissions on your server. Awesome file here.

Hey Joe. I can’t get the video to “not” scale. I have a 920×330 banner, and a 920×330 video clip. I have adjusted flash var’s and the xml.

JoeMC

Can you post a link to your example for me to look at?

You should just have to add this line into your xml within your particular video <banner /> node:

<project_scaling>no_scale</project_scaling>

Or else set the global <project_scaling /> to no_scale.

What should the permissions be set to?

JoeMC

As long as the permissions are set to ‘read’ it should be fine. There isn’t anything that is be written server side.

hi, can i put this swf in a liquid layout with percent size?

JoeMC

It’s not built to be scalable during runtime… it is built to be easily resized for any dimensions you want when you publish, though.

Anything can be customized though if you have flash/actionscript knowledge (I currently do not have time for freelance/customization work at the moment, though).

Hi Joe Before I buy can you please confirm that the banner accepts mp4 & flv formats and that they autoplay on load? Also, can you resize it to any dimensions?

thanks in advance

JoeMC

The answer is Yes to all of your questions. Thanks for asking!
