Basic XML Driven Portfolio Website:
This component is developed to allow users with little to no understanding of Adobe Flash maintain a Flash based website without ever editing the Flash edit file.
Features include:
Image viewer component:
The image viewer component allows users to display multiple images on the website. The image content just needs to be saved to a specific folder and added to the portfolio.xml. The image viewer component support for most web orientated image formats (GIF, JPG and PNG )
Video player component:
Similar to the image viewer component the video player component allows for users to display videos on the website. The video content just needs to be saved to a specific folder and added to the portfolio.xml. The video player component supports FLV video files.
HTML text support:
Most of the text fields in the website support HTML text formatting tags. Most of the common tags are supported, these are as follows:
< b> – Bold
< u> – Underline
< i> – Italics
< a> – Anchor
< br /> – Break
< p> – Paragraph
Some custom tags are defined in the Flash actionscript; these tags are detailed in the manual
PDF manual:
The manual contains all the necessary information required to get the website running and information about the movie clips that make up the website.
XML setup:
Change the colour, tiling background, the footer note, the logo, the logo tiling background, enable/disable the context menu and enable/disable the Fullscreen button by editing the settings.xml file. All the content for the website is controlled via the content.xml and portfolio.xml files.
Tween Class animation:
The tween class is used for all of the animation on the website and its speed and animation type can be controlled from two variable values. (This particular exercise will require some flash work however the Actionscript is commented to provide help)
