Pygmy: I’ve fixed all these issues but I put the portfolio viewer box above the other elements because chopping the menu bar would have resulted in a break in the design since all the bars are the same height.

This solves any viewing issues on low resolutions while still retaining a nice look and feel. I’ll upload an update version as soon as Flashden approve the first update I’ve made.

Thanks for the feedback :)

I like very much of your template, but i have a question. The content is editable through xml, but if I have special characters like “à, á, ç, ’, ” in my xml text they will apear on the final site without any problem? This way of populate a text site supports special characters? Thank you.

Ferramerico:

Yes it does support special characters, all that is required is to add the special characters to the textfields I’ve added on a seperate layer called Exported Assets. Once the characters are placed into these text fields all the textfields in the whole website will support special characters.

Its a 5 minute fix which is very simple, but if you have any issues with it I’d be glad to help

Hey Kicksaints,

I was looking at your site here and I was wondering how easy it is to change the dimensions of the pictures and videos on the website.

I shoot all my videos and design most of my broadcast design in 16×9. Is it just an option on the xml file? or would I have to go figure stuff out in the flash file itself?

Thanks,

A.

It will need to be done through the flash however it isn’t a complex process. I could put together some detailed instructions on how to do it. I take it you will be scaling your 16×9 video and designs down so they can be viewable at the minimum resolution of the website which is 1024×768 (while still retaining the contents ratio)

Send me a private message and we can discuss it further

Hey KVT

What I would suggest is not to buy this component, rather get the DXD Portfolio website because you can edit the section labels in the XML and you can load larger images than that used in this component.

When it comes to greek text there is some instructions you’ll need to follow and I’ll be glad to help you with that over via email but I’m pretty sure it won’t be a difficult edit to make as all it involves is embedding the character set into text fields.

There are some individual text fields which will need to be edited in Flash but these are pretty straight forward to change.

I hope this answers your questions

Excellent flash template. What Flash you’ve been using creating this template? The reason I’m asking is that I’m looking for a templates to integrate with flashmoto cms. Their flash cms templates should support Flash 9+.

Thanks in advance.

Hi I’m having trouble getting my background image to load. I am a novice but feel the manual is easy to follow. I put my background image in the _images folder. I entered the background image path as _images/floral.gif replacing images/tile.gif. I saved the change and then ran the index.html file and the web page is black and there is a small white circle in the middle that just keeps winding and my background image is not there. Am i putting the wrong path in?

Any ideas what I could be doing wrong? I would really like to figure this out myself and not have to hire someone to do this for me. Thanks sidigirl

Hey there, are you talking about the main text colour or the link colours?

If you’re talking about the main text colour, then its pretty easy. First open the index.fla file, highlight the second frame of the Actions layer, open the Actions panel, search for this line: var paragraphFontColour:String = ”#FFFFFF”;

Change the ”#FFFFFF” to ”#000000” (or a colour of your choice)

In the XML file which you’re using to display Text wrap all your Text in a

tag

Thats it! Remember to export the index.swf file again so it contains the updated Flash code
