Purchased

Just purchased this item; looks and works great! I can get it to work when placed directly in a fla file. How would I get it to work on a nested clip let’s say?

I have a page that loads, and on it is a menu. I choose one of the options from the menu which loads a new swf onto the stage. On this new swf that loads I would like to have the preloader run.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

Hi intrinsia,

Glad to hear you like it! :) Yes, it is possible but it would require a modification (doesn’t have to be a big one). The most direct way would be…

1) Use the preloader in the FLAs for the external SWFs you’re loading in just like you did for the container SWF .

2) However, in those external SWFs, their preloaders will need to reference fixed sizes. If you into the code for the preloader, you’ll see that it does all of its sizing based on the stage dimensions. This is why the preloader won’t work in external swfs by default – because it will use the container’s dimensions to size the preloader. To correct this, simply replace any instances of stage.stageWidth and stage.stageHeight with the actual width and height of the SWF you’re using it for.

If you have any problems or questions about this setup, please feel free to e-mail us from the contact form on our profile page and we’d be happy to lend a hand! :)

It is nice, but I need a preloader exactly like the one with http://saturday-london.com/

Can you do that? How much?

Thanks
