I thought it wouldn’t get through the queue on time for the opening so i made it for the closing ceremony :) Something’s up with those fonts though, can a mod please have a look at that and correct it? I don’t think its a font embed issue as my other file uses the same fonts and its working 100% -

I downloaded your counter and love it, but I’m having an issue with setting the correct countdown. I’m trying to get it to countdown from the current date to January 1, 2011 and it’s not working. What I’m I missing? I set the .as file to 2011, 1, 02.

Hi Kapa, glad you like it.

I don’t have access to the files right now and it’s been a whilse since i had a look at them but i’m almost 100% sure that in order to modify the countdown time you need to actually modify the .fla file and then re-publish it.

What i would suggest you do is re-download the untouched files from your den page again and then open the .fla file. I included instruction so as soon as it opens just follow them and you should be set.

Let me know if you manage to sort it out, if not then i’ll help you set it up to the cout down time you require.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi pedrodonkey.

I did what you said but it still reads 194 days when it should be 168. Not sure why it won’t work. I’m trying to count down to Jan 01, 2011 so I set the date as (2010, 12, 31) but that does not work.

Can you help me?

Thanks,

Kapa

Hey Kapa,

I replied by email explaining why it was outputting the incorrect days and the correct date to enter into the file.

BTW it should be 164 days until the 1st of January 2011, depending on your current timezone it might be +- 1 day.

Let me know if it’s working fine now.

Hi pedrodonkey,

I’m having a similar problem: I have changed the default date as below and the count down is showing 55 days instead of 6. Please assist.

var MainEvent = new Date(2011, 3, 14);

Hi belpal,

Just make the month parameter 2 instead of 3 – i know it doesn’t make sense and it’s a bit confusing but because it’s using zero based parameters to pull the date u need to put it like i mentioned above.

So the code should resemble this if your launch day is the 14th

var MainEvent = new Date(2011, 2, 14);

if your launch day is the 15th

var MainEvent = new Date(2011, 2, 15);

Let me know if you get it to work.
