Hello,

I have another question..

After you click on one of the grid thumbnails, you are presented with one large image and a line of small square thumbs for navigation. If I have many images in that gallery, therefore many thumbnails, can I have them on more than one line?

If not, would you be able to modify your file to have several rows of thumbnails?

Thank you for your reply,

MM

Hi MM,

If you have more thumbnails than can fit in the space available, then the thumbnail navigation automatically sets up a scroller.

Making this change to display the thumbs as multiple rows (or cols if vertical alignment is chosen) would be a customisation. Note this would be quite fiddly as this would also reduce the image display area – so the code changes would need to handle this also.

Let me know via PM if you are interested in doing this,

Ta, M

Hi! I have started to use this template and it looks great!

Three questions: 1. I would like the navigation menu to stay top left all the time. How do I accomplish this?

2. The breadcrumb navigation which shows at top left, this I would like to place somewhere else. Is that possible?

3. I would like the logo to stay top left all the time. How do I accomplish this?

4. I would like the small thumbnail images row displayed at the bottom instead of top right like now. How?

5. Can I make the small thumbnail images (top right now) bigger somehow? Say by 50-100%.

Thank you, and great work.

Hi there,

There are a few options for moving what I call the “sibling navigation” around. Check this out in the documentation. It’s not exactly what you’re asking for here but it may do the job.

If not PM me and we can discuss doing a customisation job.

HI, I have just purchased and downloaded your curators gallery template. I primarily want it for the feature of being able to view on Iphone as well using the php file. Your instructions say: To use the SEO solution you require a few things. These are fairly stock standard things that most web hosts provide, but check with your hosting provider if you are not sure.

An apache web server that has php version 5 The ability to create .htaccess files on your server The ability to switch on the phpmodrewrite setting on your server

1. Can you inform me what has to go in the .htaccess file and what else is necessary to implement so that when a visitor goes to the site on Iphone it automatically shows that version

2. I presume they do not have to go to any special URL , just the normal domain name for this to work??

Many thanks Gary TAFETAFE

HI, Furthe rto the post re Iphone from tafetafe I have got php version 5 I have mod-rewrite installed This is what I have put in my .htaccess file

  1. Enables mod_rewrite RewriteEngine on
  1. Sets the base folder of the SEO sample RewriteBase /

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule .* index.php

The index.html and index.php are both sitting in the root directory

However when I go to the site on iphone it does not automatically see the index.php It works fine if I go directly to the index.php but of course that is not the point.

Getting close – can you indicate what I have done wrong Thanks Gary

Hi Gary,

Yes it’s hard to post code in these comments – a better way is to put the code on http://snipplr.com/ and then link to that.

The .htaccess file contents are shown in the documentation file The iphone doesn’t need to go to a different URL , the CSS just changes if an iphone is detected. If your iphone is not seeing index.php this may be because you have left index.html on the server. Some servers load index.html instead of index.php if both are present

Hope this helps

hi Steve - I’m about to pull the trigger on your theme. Are there going to be any updates in the future? Not that this one misses anything, but it would be nice to know it’s maintained. Thanks, Andy

Err so is there a problem or not? I dont do updates for their own sake but if something is obviously missing from the template that all users can benefit from then I’ll look into that.

No, there’s no problem whatsoever and the theme is great. What I would like to suggest for a future update is captcha on the contact form, or perhaps a how-to on inserting a captcha module. I noticed you have this function in one of your demo sites, I’d be interested in it. Thanks! /Andy

Hi there – is a captcha necessary in a flash form? Automated form spam systems AFAIK work becaus they can index the page and spot form tags, whereas because flash sites use swfs which are compiled and even if decompiled are all coded differently would make it not worth a spammers time.

If you are getting spam via a flash form it must be human entered spam – which a captcha would slow down but not stop and which would decrease conversion of legitimate users. So in my opinion – not worth it.

Love it so far but I’m not quite clear on how to change font colors? I’ve tried site.css and I’m not seeing any changes. I want to change all text-title, main text.

thanks

How did you go with font colors – did you find all the CSS properties in site.css?

Was it a refresh/caching issue? (that always get’s me… ;-)

M., Good day to you fine sir! I am encountering an issue while trying to make the index page an external .SWF. It works perfectly with index.html, however, I get “Fatal error: Call to a member function getName() on a non-object in /xxxx/xxxxx/xxxxxx/index.php on line 230” when utilizing the index.php file. Please advise, and as always, thanks in advance!

All the best, M_
