I’ve noticed that very occasionally the seconds on the clock ‘sticks’ (just for a moment, then it’s back to running again, and the time is still accurate) – I’m looking into this, but it’s a puzzle as it uses the same engine as my other flipping clock and I’ve sold (to date) 112 copies of that with no issues.

Great work! Small question – what is the easiest way to get the snow to fall behind the images?

Hello Tokionoko,

The font used for the messages is called ‘ArtBrush’ and you can get the font from here – http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/ArtBrush.htm

Thanks for purchasing my work !

Is it possible to change the date to something other than christmas? Ie New Years or any calendar date? I realize this is a christmas counter, but it would work for what I need if I can easily change the date its counting down to 1/11/11

Hi ckwebsys.

Absolutely. There are three lines of code that set the date to countdown. These are

var right_now = new Date(); this_year = right_now.getFullYear(); var then = new Date(this_year,11,25,0,0,0);

with the last line being the one that sets the target time to count down to. You just change the 11 and 25 to whatever month and day respectively that you want to count down to. (I know that the 11th month sounds like November, but the Flash Date() object starts counting the months from 0 – go figure !)

The documentation I have written is very extensive, and every line of actionscript is explained. But all you actually will need to do is change the numbers on that third line above.

sorry I said three lines of code, but the comment system posted it as a single line – just imagine the line breaks at the semicolons
