DRAG V2.0 XML GALLERY [VERTICAL]

There is a problem with the XML or I am doing something stupid. If you input a title or description in the XML it does not show in the published SWF .

You can tell it’s true because on your very own slide show the word “Title” has a capital “T” but in you own XML it has a small “t” which means that even your slide show is not reading the XML title or description.

How do we fix this?

OK all sorted and my apologies to BigZ. The file works perfectly.

The problem was Flash CS3 which actually crashed tonight for the first time. After re start everything was working just fine.

That really explains a few strange things that were happening tonight!

BigZ Really like this gallery as it is really simple. (Hard to find on this site). Would it be easy to make this slide gallery work horizontally, rather than vertically? Are you looking to do it later, or is it easy to do from this file? Cheers.

I already have one working horizontally, but it’s not exact the same. If you have the knowledge you can change this file into horizontal. But I am thinking about to change it to horizontal later this year

its nice and I am debating between 2 of your files ( this one or the XML SCROLL DRAG PHOTOGALLERY )

here, the thumbnails are created from the left corner of the main image, is that right? Would it be possible to create them from the center of the image? ( if they rezise so you can see something recognisable on them, would be even better but that might be quite some added programming, I asume.

@stylofoam – the thumbnails are different images, I was a bit lazy to just link the thumbnails to the main images. But you should make thumbnails of your images yourself and link to them in the xml.

yes ofcourse, the xml has a section for thumbnail and for the big size image.

Hey, this file is pretty cool. I’ve been customizing it a bit and your comment lines are helping out a great deal. I have 2 questions though. (1) Can you tell me what frame and what AS line number actually loads in the first gallery when the page loads. I’ve somehow managed to disable this feature and can’t figure out how to reset it. (Basically, I have all the albums visible at all times – so, I disabled the category button). I think it might be around there – but, can’t be sure. Any help is appreciated.

And (2) I notice the XX + YY variables – are they just used as reference points to slide the different elements on the page to?

Whats tween class is used in this?

There is no tween class used in this gallery. I used my own type of onEnterFrame easing ...Why ?

is it possible to use the second half of this and not have the thumbnail portion? I want to have a list of projects on the main stage that opens to the second half of this.

@n_davidson – yes this is possible, you will have to change a couple of things. If you want me to do it for freelance this is also possible, but I am available again after 18 august. Please send me an email if you want me to do this.

Hi BigZ, is it posisble to generate the xml via php?

@Noah – I don’t know how that works, sorry. If your php file could make the exact xml file and load it in flash, then yeah, I bet it would work.

I purchased this a year or two ago and have recently done some updates. I made a change to the main gallery tab… just the way it looks. When I publish the file everything is working except the titles and descriptions. Instead of what I have typed it reads Title/description. Can you tell me what might be causing this.
