Great – really nice, can it be made so single click launches large image?

To Ricalien

Yes, it can easily be modified so that with one click the larger image opens but than you we have to remove the drag functions or make the drag functions work on the double. That can be done.

To Calwebman

I have tested it with both AS2 and AS3 files and it worked.

To RJFlash

Perhaps you are using second browser on your computer that doesn’t have the flash plugin installed. It works fine on other people their computers…

To fractma

Thanks

We need one for professional photographers. All the modules found in the following websites are all here in Flashden, but I still couldn’t see why is it hard for coders to design not based on their taste and own liking but a more generic one and with usability and flexibility.

Would it be easier to create an on release function to open the image if the mouse hasn’t moved between the press and release? Suggestion for people who don’t want to double click.

Nice file btw.

Can I edit this file using Adobe CS4 ? Is there a place to set the image dimensions or is it all done dynamically? Does it only use Flash and XML ?

You can open the file in CS4 and the file uses only Flash and XML . The resizing of the images is al done dynamicly but changing the actionscript isn’t that difficult because it’s well commented.

Are the picture borders (frames) created dynamically based on the original dimensions of the photos? Can there be small photos, big photos, panoramic, and vertical, all in the same gallery?

Is it possible to have the thumbnails appear in a smaller portion of the movie (designate the area where they appear), but still have the enlarged versions scale to the full size of the movie?

Ex. - thumbnails appear in section that is 300×500. - Entire movie is 600×1000 - enlarged version scales to possible 600×1000 based on image ratio

Border are created dynamically based on the original dimensions of the photos. You can use all kind of photos in the same gallery.

You should edit the actionscript to have the thumbs appear in a smaller portion of the movie and it wouldn’t be so hard to do so. The enlarged version of the images aways scales to the full size of the movie (unless you change the actionscript of course).

Really hoping for a response so I can purchase this file. I am torn between your Dynamic XML Portfolio and another.

I recently purchased your Dynamic XML Portfolio. My actionscript knowledge is limited. I see that I can chage the “margin” for where the thumbs appear, but how can I specify the exact location and dimensions of where the thumbs appear? I don’t want any other buttons, headers, or links on the page (other than the reshuffle button).

My movie size is 1000×600 pixels. I would like to place the thumbs in an area that is W=560, H=360 pixels where the top left corner of this box is located at X=360, Y=190.

Really hoping for an answer to this. Without this modification the Portfolio isn’t much use to me. In my earlier post you mentioned that it would be fairly easy to change the individual margins but I have yet to find where/ how to do it. Please help as I am under a deadline. Thx!

Still hoping for some type of response. I think being able to specify the dimensions and location of where the thumbnails appear would be a great addition to the file. Currently none of the other files on FlashDen/ ActiveDen offer it.

You can edit this option but you’ll have to edit the ActionScript a bit. You can find this particular code that postions the thumbs on line 580 till line 588. I can do this job in exchange for a small fee. Contact me for more information.

This is a great file! Is it possible to load in swfs instead of jpg? I tried to just replace the code in the xml file but to no avail. Any suggestions or is this not possible?

You can load SWF ’s instead of jpg’s but I would use an image for the thumb so that there is no interaction inside the thumb. You have to add the swf to the photos.xml and put the file in the gallery directory.
