Elastic Drop Down XML Menu - Horizontal

Hi. I purchased your file and need to use it to open an HTML page. I’m new to As and could not put together code that works from your help file. Coul you post a sample set of links showing how to do this with your menu? Thanks.

I loaded this menu into Level 10 from my main.swf. The buttons are then loading a SWF into Level 2.

Everything works locally, but when uploaded to the server I can’t get it to load when clicked. I have tried absolute paths, relative paths, etc… no luck. Any suggestions?

Hi I was wondering how I would get the drop down to expand outside of the flash container and flow over the HTML Page.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this menu just for html webpages? How about flash webpages? If it can be used in Flash websites can the menu.swf file be loaded into another movieclip I have on stage or does it have to be _root?

and then in the xml LINK tags put the urls eg.http://activeden.net

How can I change the text size and position in the menu?

is there any way to make this horizontal and reposition the main buttons next to the sub-menu?

I purchased your menu. Very nice! I am however having an issue.

I have the menu as part of my main flash file. Within this file is a container where other .swf’s called to play. Some of these other .swf’s have links or buttons in them. Everything loads fine except that buttons or links that are directly below the menu will not work until you mouse over a section of the menu that is not directly over a button or link.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

just open up mainBtn and subBtn from the library. You also have a few options in the config section to control size and positioning.

var mainY = 25;
var mainBtnSpacing:Number = 1;
var subBtnSpacing:Number = 34;

Hi Chuck,

I have this tweaked to exactly how I want it to look. Easy. The links all work. The external pages launch from the .swf just like I want them to.

Everything is PERFECT … BUT … I am using this for an HTML website. I am trying to embed the .swf file into the site. The .swf file appears empty after upload, and even when playing inside Dreamweaver it appears empty. But it tests out fine in the .fla file when I hit ctl>enter.

??? any ideas on this? I have read the threads…and the one person who had similar issues, the link you posted to them is now obsolete.

For anyone thinking of buying this menu from Chuck, be rest assured he is good at what he does. Its and awesome menu…I had no trouble editing it to fit my needs, changing out the colors, the button sizes, etc was all very easy to do. I was able to easily customize this menu to fit my needs. The .fla is nicely commented and the help file is put together well. The best $8 I’ve ever spent! Thanks Chuck!!!! I love it!

Can anyone tell me how to load external swf’s into a movieclip in as2 with this file? I cannot get my buttons to load movies while following the directions. I am not that good at as and the directions are not very specific so any help would be appreciated. Also how to possibly add sound to the rollovers.

How would I extend the width of the submenu text fields?

I have a few words that are too long and just get cut off.

I may have to have a word wrap under…

Hi Chuka , I would like to purchase this template with one modification: Would you be able to supply it so that the menu buttons are spread out horizontally from left to right with equal spacing between buttons depending on the width of the browser window? This would be ideal if when the window becomes too small the buttons do not overlap each other.

I would like to purchase ASAP . Please advise.
