This is a simple effect to animate your any word. You can use it as an introduction to your movie by just adding a “Skip Intro” button if you want.
There are attributes you can control from the xml file. If you don’t put them via xml then the defaults given in the action script are used.
a. showdelay – default (50) – number of frames to wait before showing each word
b. staycount – default (200) – number of frames the newly created word will stay
c. reachspeed – default (15) – the speed with which the newly created reaches its destination
d. fadespeed – default (15) – the speed with which the word goes off the stage
e. wordscale – default (100) – the scaling factor to maintain the size of words, we use this attribute to re size the words
f. explodescale – default (30) – the exploding animation’s scaling factor
g. redamount – default (0) – red amount to be added to the exploding effect
h. greenamount – default (0) – green amount to be added to the exploding effect
i. blueamount – default (0) – blue amount to be added to the exploding effect
j. alphaamount – default (1) – alpha amount to be added to the exploding effect
k. randomamounts – default (true) – set whether random colors for the exploding effect will be used
l. charcolor – default (0×666666) – character color for each word
m. charspacing – default (-8) – character spacing for each word
n. shadowalpha – default (15) – bottom shadow alpha for the word
The words can be made to follow an hyperlink into a targeted window or frame. Please check xml.
The attributes given above from f-n can be applied to a single character via xml. So, you can make each word look & animate differently, the way you want. Please see the xml file for reference. If no attribute is applied separately to a word then, the global settings are used.
As soon as you change any of the above attributes, the animation gets adjusted. So, you can make many kinds of cool affects with this file. For seeing an example, click the buttons at the top of the preview. The buttons don’t appear in the main file. I have attached the preview file too, if this helps anyone…
You can also make the words behave as links by giving the link urls and target via xml. And each word can be assigned a different color.
There are two kinds of things. 1. You can animate a number of words together to make it appear like an introduction to your movie. For this, the words are loaded from an external xml file and the symbol name is “words”. 2. You can make any of your word appear with this effect by using the symbol “word” and giving it a word you want… wordmoviename.word = “FLASHDEN”; and also applying the settings too.
If you use the “words” symbol then the space for showing the words gets resized automatically as soon as you resize the Stage of the flash movie.
You can also try changing the font style in the “char” symbol.
