I don’t know who deleted my last post but it explained how the chat works on Facebook.

Ok here is the info one more time.

Create a new tab in Facebook and add the Facebook Static FBML application which will allow you to render Flash content. For the chat to be able to connect to your server and send and receive data from Facebook, you need to setup a crossdomain XML and allow Facebook access to your server. Easy as that.

If you don’t know how to setup a crossdomain XML file, you can find this information on Google. I’m not going to go into details about this topic because I’m not a Flash development school. This is all the information there is to it and should enable anyone to get the Flash chat working on Facebook pages.

@rphrus2: The chat works perfectly fine on your server, you showed it to me running on your site. I also just explained in detail what steps are necessary to get the chat running on Facebook. From this point on, you are on your own. Good luck!

FYI : Setting up any kind of Flash application on Facebook, may it be a game or whatever, that requires the Flash SWF to connect to a remote server to request or receive data always requires a crossdomain XML to be located on the remote server allowing external access. This is a standard process and not something you just have to do for this Flash chat. If the chat runs fine on your website server, but when you try to run it on Facebook and get a “Sandbox Violation” error, then this is always related to the crossdomain XML and not with the chat itself. It’s not a bug or problem in the chat. It’s just a process necessary to be able to run the chat SWF file on any other domain than yours. That’s because the chat SWF is located on your domain along with the XML and PHP files and by default only your domain can access them. crossdomain XMLs are there to give access to your SWF files from other domains because by default you can run a SWF only on your domain as a security measure. If that security was not in place, any website could just steal Flash stuff from other websites and play it on their own. Hope that makes sense.

I’m sorry to tell you but Flash Chat Deluxe has been discontinued a long time ago. You will need to get the latest version which is Turbo Chat 4.2. It’s much better and has many more features.
