Your file looks great, but I have a question about whether these features would be possible using it:
I need to give clients the possibility to upload certain files to my site, but I need to be able to set the following:
1. PERMISSIONS . (the upload should be password protected)
2. A FOLDER (upload path) FOR EACH CLIENT . (every client needs to upload images and text files. Most clients don’t have a file compressor (winzip, stuffit, rar, etc) or know how to use it. If the uploader uses one directory path only, it would be a mess to receive files from multiple clients in the same folder).
My site is full-Flash, but I wouldn’t mind to set a direct url for the upload page, if necessary. Thanks for your answer in advance. Take care,

Hi Nomar,
all that is not possible with the current file, sorry. Therefore it needs some custom work or some enhancements. I think about it, have a look in the file to guess how much work is necessary. Regards, Olaf

No, not with this tool. But maybe you can add php code yourself to do this? Or have a look at: http://activeden.net/item/flashassetmanager/54486 Or mail me to do a customization.

Yes, there is surely a possibility to identify the uploaded file and the complete event, but you must be a little bit more specific what you want to do with this information
Multiple users can log into their account and upload images of their car. When they do I need to capture the image filename so I can save that name to the database.
Since there are multiple users I would have to know the image name THAT USER uploaded so as not to save the wrong one.
Ideally the filename would be available in AS so when its done I can use flash remoting to save the image name to the database.

Principally it must be possible, maybe you must add one or two lines of code in the main class of the uploader. But if you have to do so, I can help you out if it is to confusing or work not in the way you need it. Therefore you can use the forum at forum.skurrilewelt.de

this was the server response I’ve noticed:
The requested URL /upload2/uploadWidget.swf was not found on this server.Maybe the uploadWidget.swf is in the wrong directory? Please check this. If the problem persists please send me a mail and we will find the solution.

You can set the file types in a xml file:
imageFileDescription = “Images (.jpg, *.jpeg, *.gif, *.png)” imageFileExtensions = “.jpg;.jpeg;.gif;.png” textFileDescription = “Text Files (.txt, .rtf, *.doc)” textFileExtensions = “.txt;.rtf;.doc”

What u mean exactly? Basically there is no image resizing tool included but i can make any custom work u need.
I just purchased this but am not seeing a CLOSE option even though it states it after uploading????
The CLOSE option does not exist on preview either.
Need that option visible on preview and in file before purchasing.

The Close Button only works, if you use the widget in a flash application (in a kind of window, that can be closed) in html this button has no function and can be switched to unvisible.
hi, any way to have the files emailed as attachments instead of being uploaded to a server?

Hi, should be a smaller problem and can be made alone with php. See PHPMailer docu how to attach files to an email and integrate the PHPMailer to the server side upload script.
