very nice, i like it … perfect
very nice, i like it … perfect
Really cool, very customizable.
like it a lot, good job!!!!!!!
very nice but there’s a weird text jumping effect.. is it aligned to the right?
Text jumps a bit indeed, but overall pretty sweet preloader
EDIT : Wait, 200kb for a preloader? Dude?
Hi to all, text is centerd and effect is caused by number 4. This number have little big space on the right side. You can use any other font by your choice in the textfield
Regarding space, yes this is flex
My flex app after compilation with preloader has 200kb(complete flex app with preloader and AS3 animation).
Preloader graphics has 1,5kb and must be embded into flex app.
Clear flex app without any code just default flex project has cca 175kb in release build.
I will fix font issue to have a nice preview
Thank you guys!
Hi to all. Just want to write couple of words about large size of Flex application and some concerns with this issue. This particular example, with a preloader, is very nice to explain. 200 kb is the size of the whole compiled Flex application, and not the size of preloader. Remember, that typical Flex application (for example, if you create new project in Flex builder, do nothing with it and compile such blank application) will have approx. 200 kb in size – this size is cased by including different part of the framework. If you then start editing your Flex project, the project size will not increase dramaticaly. That is mean, that if you buy some FLEX preloader or any other small stuff for Flex (NOTE, not for flash but for Flex) which size is reported as 200kb it will not add this 200 kb to your flex project. Typicaly your project will be approx the same size because if we drill down into such small things for flex, we will see that they are flash or vector graphics, which are small in their sizes.
Well, i hope in some near future FlashDen staff will fix all such issues. For example, will add “Open with Flex” or will mark, that the Flex project size is much larger than actual size of the component to be sold.
Thanks for the explanation FLEXIncubator , had no idea
Wouldnt it be better to put down the actual size of the component, instead of the whole thing, since that component is the only thing customers will add? I mean, if people see the 200kb without reading your comment, they might skip the file. If they see its pretty small, they look further.
Just my 2 cents
Here is my test with release builds:
Size of new flex project: 172,8kb Size of new flex project + preloader: 176,4kb
Preloader will add only 3,6kb to flex application. Ok I will add this size as published size.
Many thanks to all for your opinions!.
@gfxfont Well, i think it can be subject to discuss with the staff (i hope i will write some letter to them with my vision of what would be nice to change in Flex category), and everybody will be right: you – because actual size of your particular component is small, and they (well, just in case they will no agree with it) because the published size is larger. Anyway, i think that this is just because the Flex category is too young and all such issues will be fixed.
@Emroni
Do you realy have 172,8kb blank project? Well, i have 272,8kb…. In any case, there are some ways to decrease the size during compilation, but it is not always recommended. In any case, as I have mentioned, this initial size will not increase dramaticaly, if you will decide to build more complex (not just blank) Flex application. And Internet connection speed is pretty large now no cover such increasing sizes.
@Emroni
My sister with her husband has just arrived from Netherlands from small vacation. Wish to go there some time or even to win some php position there (which would be better)

FLEXIncubator, yes I have 172,8kb as the default without any modification. Did you try export release build? Or measure your debug build?
My debug build has very similar size as yours.
@gfxfont Yes, you are right, we were talking about different things – release build is 172.8.
BTW , just my thought, it would be more nice to change your preview, so the prospect buyers need less movements…. just remove Apply button and add Change event listener to color picker and combobox…
Font jumping effect was solved
Preview and sell package is updated.
Having a weird issue where the preloader graphic doesn’t scale up to the size of the application.
Example: http://i40.tinypic.com/i57uc8.png
I figured at first that it would require an edit of the swf and thus increased both the stage & MC sizes to meet the size of my application, but still it showed up centered with the standard green bg.
I tried to override the green using the “-default-background-color” compiler argument but using the preloader seems to take precedence over it, and thus the green remains. How would i go about getting the preloader background to scale to the size of my application?
Hi, PolarisFx, there is no problem to change the fla file to fit flex size.
- open the fla - edit the fla document size to fit the flex size app - edit the preloaderMovie instance go to // bottom background layer - for the test add to rectangle in the same size as flex size (preloader will be placed at the top of flex app yu need to cover flex app with this bg)
OR
You can send to me info@gfx.cz your flex app and the preloader in the current state. I can check your steps and send it back with my comments whre is the mistake with help file and working example for you.
Nice piece of code, good Job!
I’ve purchased it and I’m loving it
Hi!
Can I use it as indicator without percent with loop?
Tnaks Tamás
what flash version should i use to edit fla file?
