Right, I’ve managed to get the video to play smoothly on most connections by increasing the “ns.setBufferTime(11);” to 11. The problem is still that occasionally the film plays back faster than it can buffer and if this happens then the film goes back to the start rather than pausing and then continuing once it has buffered more. How can I fix this?

That shouldn’t be the case. As you can see with the video I posted, the player simply stops and buffers more video.
I’m sure it shouldn’t be the case and it seems to be… Do you have any idea what could be causing it? Your help is much appreciated!

Yes, I think the encoding of the video you use might be the problem.
Hey There Bobocel,
I just purchased your FLV Player #6. I think it’s great. I like all the flexibility given by passing the path in the embed.
However, as it is now, the video player is stretching my videos disproprtionatley. It is altering the aspect ratio. Is this a Meta Data problem? Or is there something else I’m missing?
If I check in Adobe Bridge, I see that there is no info for Pixel Aspect Ratio under META DATA > VIDEO > PIXEL ASPECT RATIO .
The videos were exported from Adobe Premier Pro CS3 .
Thanks for your help! Once again, Great Player!

Please check the help file to understand how you can resize the file correctly.
Hello Bobocel,
I have in fact resized the player according to the help file.
So are you saying that if the video is being stretched disproportionately that I have a made an error? If everything is done correctly, and I have re-sized the player to 16×9, and I play a video that is 4×3, what is your player designed to do? Will it display black bars on each side, or will it alter the apect ratio of the video to accommodate the player? (ie; will it stretch it?)
Thanks again!
Do you know what encode methods could be causing this and which method you use to avoid this happening?
Hi Tigerchick,
Are you asking me, Jimbosun, that question or are you having the same issue?
It seems no matter what size I export the video, it always is stretched to fit the dimensions of this FLV Player 6. I had been hoping to size the player at 16×9 and have black bars at each side display if I use a 4×3 video.
Anything Bobocel?
Thanks
Sorry, Tigerchick, I see now what you are referring to.
Ooopps!

@jimbosun: that’s why I tell you to read the help file. The videos need to be the same size as the player.
@tigerchick: you can set the buffering time to more seconds in the Actions.as file.
Thank you Bobocel for your response.
I seem to have misunderstood the wording in the help file. I had actually read it, but I took it to mean the opposite.
I still think it’s a great player! Thanks again!
Bobocel, I have already changed the delay in the action.as file and this helps a little as I said before. You seemed to think that the method i was using to encode the video might be the problem though. Could you please elaborate on this if you are able? Many thanks

I wish I would know the solution. I for one use Sorenson Squeeze to do my video files.
Hello, I would like that the film starts after the end again. What should I do with regards Jens

You can set seek to 0 when the movie finishes.
