770. Nice game:)
Hi liendp,
Did you manage to sort out High Score part of game?
Thanks, Pixel8
Sorrt for the very long wait, been really busy with other stuff. But the scoreborad is added, you can test it at: http://www.vaultsofhera.com/FD/game/pathFolower.html
@pixel8: didn’t have time yet, will fix it on wednesday and thursday. I’ll keep you guys posted.
Was thinking about combining this with Joystick with your stuff,. Could make a pretty challenging and visually appealing driving game (with a big catch). Just need to change the orientation to to vertical and make it a bit easier to play. Looks like you already have the boundaries handled. Just need to change it to the car movement. Scoring could be similar, but using a virtual joystick and an object in place of the mouse. Did a high score system in ASP and Access/MySQL and SQL and it Remembrs your local personal high score using flash cookies and then upades the online list if your scrore is any higher than the lowset posted score. Much faster than others I have seen and is extremely secure, Will problably clean it up and then post it. Unforunately don’t have the time at this exact moment. Looks like you have a good start on what could be a nice random generated race track. Much faster than others I have seen and is extremely secure, Will problably clean it up and then post it. Unforuately don;t have the time at this exact moment.
@steveDude, excellent idea, same thoughts allready ocured to me, but time is a luxury I don’t have these days. But if I find time, I’ll defenitally make it. I’ll keep you posted.
Sounds great. I’d love to see that happening guys!
@pixel8: I’m really looking forwared to making the game but first an update on this one (scoreboard), after that the ‘race-game’ will be first on the list.
@liendp, I got a good start on integrating this the way I need it, but tring to figure out how round the corners properly to make it look more like a road. Any ideas?
Thanks,
SteveDude
@SteveDude: now you have 3 options: up,down or move forward. If you want to make a road you have more options cause you have turns and not corners. So you have 8 options: up & down,up-left & up-right,down-left,down-right,forward & back. Each time ypu have to make a random choise between these options and place them on the grid.
But if you’ve got enough patient, I’ll make my own version. If you have your version finished, send me a pm, I’m really looking forward to the end-result.
Hi liendp, Thank you for your reply. I look forward to seeing the scoreboard, and the upcoming games you have in mind. Many thanks! Pixel8
I have unique situation since my files are not run in a normal web browser. They are accessed using the MS Web Browser control, which is embedded inside a program. The initial size is 137 pixels wide, by however high the program is, so everything I work on I need to modify to fit with that in mind. The other catch, is everything must be resizeable.
It does set some limitations…but I found a couple of other files on this site that at first glance appear would be fairly easy to integrate in your program and could be just as much fun…Bug Tracker and XML Mini Cooper Tracker.
At least the bug tracker would not require rounded corners.
Hi liendp and SteveDude,
Just wondering how you are getting on with the scoreboard for Follow the Path, and how the new game is progressing?
Many thanks, Pixel8
@pixel8: didn’t have time to make it yet, but I’m reserving time in my schedule on friday and sunday.
I like the game and plan on purchasing if you can add a high score module to it.
liendp,
Are you updating the file on this site as well or do we need to go through you? Depending on how close it is to my own high score system, I might be able to give you an ASP version of it so you could have the best of both worlds.
Thanks,
SteveDude
@SteveDude: I’m also updating the file on this site. So if i finnaly gets uploaded, I’ll give you a ring.
@Wilson: I’ve updated this file, for a working example go to: Pathfolower with scoreboard
That is the cleanest and easiest to implement scoreboard system I have ever seen. My guess is it would be pretty hard to cheat on it as well.
I’ll whip you up an ASP version this weekend.
Thank You.
@liendp: Check your mail. Got an ASP version done.
this game crash mi browser in scoreboard…
