Cool glass look!
Cool glass look!
neat
I jus purchased this and its great and all but i was wondering is there a way instead of linking the buttons to an outside link like you have to linking the buttons to another movie clip in flash?
hi and thanks for your purchase and comment!
yes, it’s possible but not without editing the code in the fla, as the menu is designed to work mainly as a menu for html pages.
Please write me an e-mail, specifying what you need exactly (i.e: call a frame of the timeline for each button, or open a scene, etc…) and I will send you a modified version.
These menu rocks!
add flashvars=”active=5” will open the menu with the 5th tab pre-selected, very convenient if you use different page with no frames.
Clean code, five star.
classy and slick (not overpowering). i like the shine effect when rolling over buttons.
plus, the designer responds very quickly for any issues that you may have.
I have purchased this component and it’s working great, however, i had like to know if it is possible to know which button has been clicked without calling another html page. Maybe just through javascript. That would be very usefull when using Ajax UpdatePanel.
<Item title="Button Name" link="javascript:yourjsfunction()"></Item>
this will call that js function once the button is pressed, not opening another page.
Great work, very smooth.
I’d like to have 2 of these on one page (2 SWFs). I need to use localConnection to call whatever function to set all of the buttons to not-selected. I now how to use the localConnection but am unsure what i can call in the actionscript to trigger the menu to show nothing selected. Any ideas?
Or should i be using flashVars somehow?
hi homemadebyx, thanks for your purchase!
if you look here you can see an example of an html page containing 3 instances of the menu.
With “nothing selected” you mean that none of the buttons is selected/highlighted?
If you don’t set the “active” flashvar then by default no button is selected (like in the first instance).
Anyway all the menu features are controlled by flashvars and xml only, so you should work only within these two fields (you can make for example each instance of the menu to load a different xml configuration file).
If you still have problems please write me an email so I can help you better.
Hi!
I need to have characters like å ä ö These doesn’t work. Is there a solution for this?
Regards, Johan
hi Johan, thanks for your purchase!
To have characters like that it’s rather easy. You need to embed them in the swf.
- Open “Glass_HMenu.fla” with Flash
- In the application Library open the MENU ELEMENTS > BUTTON > menuButton movieclip
- There is a textfield here that hosts the buttons text. Click on it and in the properties panel click on the “Characters Embedding…” button
- Here you can select other characters subsets to include, other than the standard ones. Your characters should be contained in the subsets: “Basic Latin” and “Latin I” (or maybe even “Latin Extended A”, you need to check this). The more subsets you select here the bigger the final swf will become (so this is the reason why it’s not advisable to select all the possible characters if not really needed).
If you still have problems please send me an email.
That worked! Thanks!
Hello
Can we use Unicode characters in this menu? Arabic for example?
Hi
Could you tell me how to change the font color…
Thanks!
Hi efeflash!
You can do that editing the fla:
Please remember to install the included font (Myriad Pro) in your system before compiling the swf (if you do not want to change it with another one).
