The Glossy Countdown Clock is our stylish, highly customizable take on the countdown timer. Displayed in glossy, colored blocks, the countdown spins away as numbers update in a vertical blurring motion. You control what measurements of time are displayed, from years all the way down to milliseconds. If you leave out something in the middle, the countdown clock automatically converts the time to the next available increment. Try it out in the preview above to see what we mean. Uncheck the Hours checkbox and suddenly the minutes will update to include the hours. The Glossy Countdown Clock does all the heavy lifting for you. You can set your target date and time to use the user’s local time, or to use the time zone of your choosing by setting the “offset” parameter (its value represents your target timezone’s difference from GMT , in hours)
We give you complete control over the appearance of your countdown clock. Use the preview above to explore many of the settings available. There are so many ways you can control your countdown that we couldn’t fit them all in the preview! Read on for a full list of all you can do to make your timer unique:
- Control what increments of time to display. Pick and choose years, hours, days, minutes, seconds… even milliseconds!
- Set your target time to the user’s local time or to a time zone of your choosing. Yu can specify the target time down to the millisecond.
- Your countdown timer can be any size. Change the setting for text size in the timer and it will resize everything to match.
- Control the amount of blurring when numbers decrement.
- You can turn the reflection on or off, and control how much of a gap there is between the clock and the reflection.
- Toggle the glossy overlay on the blocks.
- Create optional separators for each grouping of time. Choose what text to use in the separators (or just an empty space), if they should be in blocks, and what colors they should have.
- You choose if the timer should have labels or not. You control text size and color, and can even customize the text used for each label!
- Do something when the timer is done counting down! The Glossy Countdown Clock will dispatch an event when your target time is reached. The included documentation shows you how to listen for this event so that you can take whatever action you want when the timer is done!
This countdown clock uses the font Alte Haas Grotesk, a free TrueType font available on dafont.com (http://www.dafont.com/alte-haas-grotesk.font). Changing the font is easy! We provide a text field in the countdown clock’s MovieClip for just this reason – all you have to do is change the text field’s font, and you’re done!
The Glossy Countdown Clock is contained within its own MovieClip. Just drag and drop it into your project and you’re ready to go! Documentation is provided, outlining how to get the clock into your project and begin customizing it to suit your needs. All settings are stored in their own layer in the MovieClip, with comments explaining what each setting does so there’s never any guesswork.
