Gradient color picker and background & movieclip color tweener. This is a nice little application for tweening two color gradients. Tweeen your background or any other movieclip in a two color gradient! Here I used an image of a color wheel to sample the color but you can use any image you like!
There are two little mc’s on the stage, try clicking on them to give them focus. The top one changes the top color and the bottom one changes the bottom color. Or you can click on the color wheel and change top and bottom colors interchangeably.
Ther are also two textfields for the colors ,they display the new values in hexadecimal format. They also tween to new values.
You dont just change the color of the movieclip, you tween it! It’s like this: you have old blue and new blue color, and you tween your movieclip’s color to the new blue ,going through all the colors in between! We don’t actually change color of the background , we use a movie clip which is the same size as the background. Colors are tweened with easing , a very nice effect. Every ActionScript function is very well commented. Enjoy!
