Hi Bjorn,

it seems that the problem is, after all, coming from within the template. All SlideShow Pro and Adobe forums are suggestive but puzzled. Have a look at teh website – you’ll see what I mean www.backlitfilms.net (showreel). There needs to be some way of either incorporating the xml from SSP into your settings (or whatever) xml so that the player is guided to where to look for the content. Basically, I just need a player to go into where that space is allocated for the SWF file. Any advice?

I was about to reply – it’s AS3 . I’ve pm’d you. Probably showing my ignorance here but can your AS2 be converted to AS3 ?

Ok, great suggestion re: AS3 and AS2 , made a new player and it works beautifully so thank you very much. My only problem now is the email contact form. I’ve changed line 3 in send.php to reflect my email address and checked that php is enabled but the form shows the “an error occurred” note. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Hi Bjorn, hope you’re well. Any advice re: the contact form? I’ve checked the php info on my server and it seems ok. But what’s more bizarre is that, although all messages sent using the php form have been rejected (with the try again message) one actually came through this morning. However, there was no reference to the senders email address and the subject came up as “Your Website [info@yourweb.com]” and the body had only the messages from the xml. What instructions are needed to change the xml so that it works properly other than putting my email address in line 3? Does it work for anyone else and, if so, what did you do to get it working? This is the last thing I need so if it can be fixed you won’t hear from my sorry ass again (unless it’s to buy more stuff in the future )

Hi Steve – check the path to the PHP script is specified properly in the config layer of the contact.fla. All the other values you will need are in the PHP file – all lines are commented you should be able to read through it and understand what everything does.

Ok.

1: php on server says the following:

sendmail_from no value no value sendmail_path /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i

where coloumn two is local and three is master.

2: config.fla is written right

3: my email address is in line three.

4: I know you said i should understand what everything else does but it seems I don’t because I would expect there to be: a: a generated email; b: a proper sender’s email address.

of which there is neither.

Please assume, for the purpose of getting this working right, that my knowledge is not at the level of yours re: coding etc. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am also having some difficulties with the php. I wish others that fixed there own problem with it posted on here what they did. The only thing I changed on the php was the email address. I checked the path on the contact script and it was correct. As for uploading to my server, both the phpinfo.php and send.php seem fine. I am hosting on dreamhost. Is there something very simple that I am missing?

Very nice template! I have easily edited the xml and the main preview.fla and found your help guides very helpful. However, I’m having difficulties with the contact form. I have edited the send.php file by putting the desired email address but I get the error message when i try to send a comment. In your help guide for the contact for you just mention changing the email address in the send.php script. Is there something else I need to do?

Hi Bjorn,

Is there any way that I can have one of the buttons open a hyperlink? I would like to have one of them display as ‘B – Blog’ and have that button link directly to my blog? If this isn’t possible, can I create a hyperlink using xml text? i.e. the user would click on the ‘B’ button, a text box would display with something along the lines of ‘Click here for my blog’.

when send out mail at contact, it shows “An error occured, your email could not be sent”

my php send mail setting is /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i

hi rickycharm – you need to uncomment the 2nd line in the config layer of contact.fla – its commented out by accident – my bad
