Hello samss100,

Could this file be used to strictly display larger photos? I’d like to use this as a photography portfolio with images at about 500×400 pixels in size. If this can be done, do you think it would work well in regard to loading times? Some galleries would have 20 or more photos (at 500×400 in size each) so I wasn’t sure if the entire row of photos would have to load up first before the user could start viewing or would each photo load individually?

Let me know if this is something that would be possible with your file. Any help would be great.

@Scape3d: displaying larger images wont have any problem. But each photo would load separately.

Thanks for the quick response! Ok, photos loading individually should be ok. I have just a couple more questions:

1. Is it easy to have the images closer, as in no gap in between each photo? I want the photos to appear as a “strip” of photos.

2. I want to use this file as part of a full web site. Would it be easy to add links/navigation (about, bio, contact, etc) to this file to make it a full web site with various photo galleries?

@scape3d: Yes, you can have the images closer & can customize the gap, and you can add navigational links as well, if you have more queries get back to me at samss100@gmail.com

I have a problem, I can not remove the link for all my external swf, I need not bearing link, but if you remove the code from the XML mc_sc_portf movie clip I do not see the external swf.

@Geddy: Do you mean that you do not want any redirected URL while you click on a slide then do two things:

Get inside the Movie Clip mc_sc_portf>and get inside the edit of scrolledMC> open the frame Action

Step 1: Comment out or delete the action on line 25:

getURL(newURL, “_blank”;

Step 2: add the following line within the for loop, may be in the line 2

this[“tp”tpc“_mc”].useHandCursor=false

note [add plus between “tp” “tpc” “_mc’ as plus icon is not supported in this post]

Please help, I am having a couple of problems with the template. Mainly, I just want to use the template to show static .jpg images. I thought that I had removed all references to the .swf and .fla files out of the XML document however the movie player and controls still appear (although they do not load any movies). How do I get rid of those so that I can just load static images? Thanks is advance!

Hey samss100, I’ve tried to reach you by email but I haven’t heard from you in a few weeks so I am trying here. I’m trying to remove 2 of the video clips from the portfolio, I don’t need any of them. I successfully opened them up in Flash and deleted the movie content holders and moved the rest of the image/swf content holders forward. When I test it and export it it looks flawless. However when I deploy it to my server it doesn’t work and some how the video content holders are back. I thought it might be due to the XML telling it to do something or such. However, removing the video information from XML completely breaks the site. So I’m lost on what to do… looking for any help. Thanks…

The description is incredibly misleading. This template is NOT “fully XML driven”, and you really DO need to know quite a bit about Flash.

My recommendation is that you avoid this template if you’re thinking about modifying the number and type of images which scroll… and if you’re used to reading English instructions.
