Horizontal XML menu - Slide & Fade

Okay, I think I get the idea. You wrote this with the buttons NOT preset to do anything. I’ve never heard of any menu file like that for sale here. I come here to buy flash files because I don’t know how to write my own files. You comment in the AS that I must assign a getURL by adding code, but I’d love to know where exactly to put that code on lines 133 and 194. What exactly is it supposed to look like. But before I even go that far, are you telling me that the main nav buttons, what you call “about us, news, services, and contact” are not set up at all to link to a URL , unless they don’t have sub-menus, which are also not preset to do anything? At some point in my life I need to learn more about coding AS files, but I was hoping that this file would be like every other menu file I’ve purchased at Activeden – pretty much ready to be used. I thought that was the great convenience of providing xml. Please forgive me if I am wrong. I’m intending to be rude by trying to compare this file unfavorably to other menus, I just need to get this project underway. I really like this menu, so I don’t want to junk it, waste my money and time by buying someone else’s menu that is set up to fetch URLs already. HELP !!!

Holi Moli! What a pain I am. I’m truly sorry about asking so many dumb questions. You are right that experimenting helps. So, I edited the AS code to make the buttons work, but I still need the main buttons with submenus to link to a URL . As I mentioned before, I saw you tell nijodream to add the following to line 179: mainBtn.onRelease = function():Void { if (activeMain != this) { getURL(this.link, "_blank"); } but all I get are compiling errors. As I asked once before, can you shoot me the correct coding for lines 176 on? I’m not sure where exactly the above code should go. I’m guessing it is not replacing anything, as you said “add.”

What do I have to add to the flash file?

I love this menu but cannot get these links to work. Can someone please post an example that a non-programmer can understand.

I know it’s probably something really simple but I’m just not getting it? I need the navigation to act exactly like Rasa’s website up above. Can you send me a full example of what I’m supposed to input in lines 133 and 194 with the example below?

What am I replacing “about.swf” and “sub1.swf” with in the XML file? I want them to go to an HTML page.
