The Mini RSS Reader displays the title, link, description, and image from items in your RSS feed. It’s a great way to display your latest work or news so visitors to your site can then subscribe to your RSS feed for updates. Includes instructions on how to easily make your own feed!
- The RSS 2.0 feed is parsed by a PHP file. (you need PHP support on your web server). Now compatible with PHP 4 & 5.
- You can change the colours of the item title, link colour, link hover colour, preloader and RSS icon through the PHP file
- The first image in the description field of the RSS is extracted and loaded into the imageHolder movieclip. There is a preloader so that if the image is large you will see the preloader animation until it loads.
- You can easily change the size, layout and design in the Flash file.
Please note that this file is designed to be used with RSS feeds in the format of the sample provided with it. So you can easily make your own feed based on this sample file. It may work with other feeds, but I cannot guarantee it. If your feed has a title, description, and an image in the description field (and only uses html tags supported by flash), then it should be fine. Feel free to email me from my profile if you would like me to test it with a certain feed for you before you purchase.
