Hi. Yes, it’s possible and easy. Just open the fla, in the main movieClip (minimalNewsReader MC) there is a layer called “background”. Edit it if you want to change the image or just set the alpha to zero on properties panel, that’s all. Hi. Sorry for delay in answering you this. I’ve just upgraded to latest version, i’ve installed 10.2.153.1. I’ve checked it with FF3 , Chrome and IE8 and it works fine. I’ll install later FF4 in another machine (i prefer not to upgrade yet, for testing purposes) and will let you know what could be the problem. Do you have the same problem checking my preview or just your frontend? Best regards.

Hi. You need to embed all your desired characters in the date text field (font: District thin) so it can load plain text from the xml; right now it can just display numbers and ”/” character. Apart from that, if you are going to use large titles then some code editing will be necessary, as the file has a fixed width for that dates elements in the menu. Great I figured it out. Thank you. One more thing. I can not figure out in my life where to change the color of the bottom horizontal line (orange line and text). Please help.

Also what color 0xff5400 is that…it has 8 digits????

Hi. You can make your loaded image higher, directly, but you will want to move the holder little bit up. To do that, enter inside “newsContent” MC, you will see a layer called “holder image”. Select the empty MC in that layer in put it up in the stage, matching your need.

About your second request, insert images inside the text, you can do that directly in the xml. See the sample provided, news entry 4 & 5 has images inside the text, suing html tag < img >. Just follow that samples, and also inserting the image on top.

Hi. Edit the graphic elements inside “newsContent” (which you’ll find in MCS folder on library) to match your needs. Do not touch the mask mc (msk layer). Once this done, go to “minimalNewsReader” MC, layer codes. Open actions panel. You will need to adjust the value datesGap on line 30, and also the mask width value while opening on lines 119 and 136.

Hi n26. The news reader buttons are coded to be dates, not titles. For that some code editing will be required. The main thing to solve is that the current system sets a fixed width for each date (button) entry, so you need to transfor it into a dynamic width, meaning the rest of elements adapating that dynamic summed width, instead of the fixed default system. Almost all the changes needs to be done in the code, and not in the graphic objects. Go to “minimalNewsReader” MC, layer codes, search for “datesGap” entry in all the code, as this is the fixed width the system is asumming to position the buttons. Check the function on line 99 and also the for function that moves all the buttons when one has been clicked that starts on line 139.
