Hi Encryptme,

I have a few simple questions:

1)

Can i use this without having any flashtools and almost zero flash-experience ?

2)

Do you have an example of the config image xml ? (a link or a text-example in this forum)

3)

Can i use 2 slideshows on 1 page ? if yes can you tell me what to modify ?

4)

Can i use gif’s ? a) to have animated pics. b) to have transparent pics.

5)

Can i remove or modify the text that shows when hovered over an image ?

Last question not on your slideshow specifically:

I have a page with a Youtube-player on it and currently i use a html/javascript slideshow the problem is that when i play the Youtube-player (HD) it consumes so much processor-time that this slideshow almost stops sliding or is not sliding smooth anymore…i was told that this problem would disappear or be reduced very much if i would use a flash-based slideshow because flash uses it’s own timers Can you confirm or say anything about that ?

1. yes you can use with out flash program, you just need a notepad to edit the xml & html. A help document is included so you can follow the steps.

2. config/setup xml is as shown in the preview: http://activeden.net/item/myslickslide-vertical-slideshow-xmlpv3d/full_screen_preview/35291

3. yes just like in the preview you can have 2 slideshow on one html.. just put the swf and files in separate folders and call both into one html.

4. animated gif are not allowed, you can instead import animated gif in flash and load a swf instead. Transparent img are supported.

5. yes, in the xml.

6. really depends on how it was programmed, anything which is constantly running will eat up cpu memory.. your slideshow is constantly moving and looping which is why i think its slowing things down.

I understand there are 2 xml’s:

1 XML for configuring the slideshow. 1 XML to config/import the pics.

i dont see an example of that last one Do you have that example somewhere ? (or can you mail that to me )

I cant do anything in Flash..so no animated gif’s for me ? would it be difficult for you to add that option ?

And a new last question: Is there a max of (different) pics that can be used ? (i need at least 25 per show)

sorry no flash does not support showing gif without using flash to import. so its not question that i can or cant do it.

there is no max, you can add as much as you want in the xml.

Can this be dropped in another falsh movie as a movieclip. If so, will it resize, etc?

@ja_3kids the safer way to do will be to use loader & load the swf into that movieclip. But it wont resize to fit that movieclip relly depends on how you load it.
