This is a nice application for displaying projects from a portfolio. It’s simple to administrate and doesn’t require any Flash knowledge because all you need to do is modifying some variables in a xml file or adding new tags.
How to use it:
Open the file named portfolioViewer.xml with your favorite editor (for example notepad or dreamweaver). In the first tag you can set values for the attributes slideShow (on or off) and slidesShowDelay (the delay between 2 slides in seconds). Next add a new ‘client’ tag for every project featured in the portfolio, edit the attributes thumbPath (the thumbnail that shows on the dock), link and description. For every client you can have unlimited photos, just use the imagePath attribute for every image to specify the file path for it.
If you want to use this application in a more complex flash project look for the portfolioViewerMC symbol in the library and drag and drop it on the scene.
The dimensions for the thumbnails have to be 120×120 pixels and for the screenshots make sure they are 600×250 pixels. You can change this dimensions if you edit the .fla source file, the movie clips are named very straight forward so you can find them easy. We also commented the variables that can be modified in the code.
