Photo Ruffle - xml image gallery

I’m sorry but from what I can see you have purchased V1 of Photo Ruffle, while the Flickr support is only in V2 ( http://activeden.net/item/photo-ruffle-2-xml-image-galleries/120491 ).

Unfortunately there is no upgrade option here on AD, but please write me an email and I will send you the V2 by paying me the difference in price via Paypal (...or you can always try to contact the AD staff here and tell them you have made a mistake in the purchase, I think they could return your money so you can buy V2 directly from here).

I have understood now why you made the mistake… my “now with Flickr support” message was referring to Photo Ruffle V2, since it’s placed below its link, but I understand that it may be not so clear (better remove that message I suppose, to avoid other misunderstandings…)

Hi! Are you talking about Photo Ruffle 2?

In that case you just need to open the fla with Flash, go to the Library and open the INTERFACE > PolaroidGfx > polaroid movieclip.
You can easily change the line spacing of the title text field directly from there. Select it (it’s just the one below the black area, called “polaTitle”) and edit its properites in the Properties panel.
Compile again the swf and you are ready!

No, I am sorry… at the moment the global audio is not disabled automatically if another audio starts within a photo.
Anyway… do you need the photos to load automatically an audio (that you can define for example in the XML ), or are you planning to use SWF files as the photos source (which will include and play an audio from within)?

I can add this modification for a future update if you want… but I fear that I will not be able to do that so quickly, since I have a lot of custom works to finish at the moment.

ps: you are writing on the Photo Ruffle 1 page… no problem for me, but if you decide to buy it be careful not to confuse the two

How did you load the PhotoRuffle.swf into your project? Can you send me your souce files so I can check them? (abaroni[at]gmail.com)

If you load it using the Loader class you can just put it on your stage or main movieclip as any normal movieclip.
The PhotoRuffle, having by default a fluid layout, will automatically cover your whole stage area, but you can limit this using the XML options “application_maxWidth” and “application_maxHeight) (so to actually obtain a fixed layout if you want).

No, you do not need to have Flash installed to create your galleries.
You need Flash only to do some custom modifications to the fla (for example changing the interface graphics, embed different fonts, or more in-depth customizations).

For anything else (creating and configuring your galleries) you just need to edit the XML configuration file, where you need to set your options and to define all your galleries (you can have a look at how the XML is made in the item description).
And in the package you will also find a Visual editor for the XML , which comes in handy if you don’t know how to write an XML document (even if the demo XML is already included and you can just start from that one).

Anyway… please also have a look at Photo Ruffle 2, since it has a lot of features more than v1, and it is a software that will be further developed in the future with more updates.

The only thing that is missing at the moment from V2 is the XML Visual Editor, but I am working on adding it again also to V2 in a next update.

I think you have only forgot to enable the fullscreen from the html page, adding this parameter to the Flash object:

<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" />
...
<embed src="PhotoRuffle.swf"  allowFullScreen="true" ...

Since you are using AC_FL_RunContent you need to set that option also there, and not only in the “noscript” area

If you remove the caption text from the “photo” nodes then the caption will not appear at all.

No caption defined => no caption will be shown, even in hidden mode.

You should not have problems with CS5 .5, even if the fla is saved as CS3 (at least in CS5 on Mac there are no problems).

Why did you opened the fla anyway? Do you need to make some custom modifications? Have you changed something before recompiling, or have you moved the classes folder? Do you have by any chance the possibility to try it on CS5 and tell me what happens? Are you on Windows? (I will try to find a copy of Flash CS5 .5 to check it, but I am quite sure that the new features of CS5 .5 should not be a problem).
