Pixel Bleed is a text effect generator that allows you to quickly create and alter text effects via an XML file. Pixel Bleed can be implemented simply by dragging and dropping a MovieClip into your project. It’s available in AS3 and AS2 versions.
The MovieClip contains the text field that Pixel Bleed applies your effect to. You can change font, size, formatting… whatever you want to change to the text field! Pixel Bleed will apply your effect on the fly, creating a unique experience for anyone typing into it.
Effects are easy to create! Just open the accompanying XML file and change any of the parameters you want, then open your SWF and see the difference. Control direction, speed, color, layering… all aspects of the effect! And to help get your creative juices flowing, the XML file includes the settings that were used for the above examples. Settings include:
- textColor: The color used for the text
- bleedColor: The color used for the bleed
- alpha: The alpha/transparency of the bleed
- quality: The number of passes made when creating the bleed effect
