is this AS3 only?

yes, it is an AS3 Flash CS3 + project.

can you confirm this works within Flash Player 10 when working fully, the preview obviously isn’t running PHP …

Or post a link to a working version would be great

I’m running flash 10 (not flash cs4, as in it was tested using flash 10 player). So I’m sure it’ll work with flash 10 Make sure to download the test zip first to be 100% sure your server works with the php methods I used and it’ll work great

I only ask as ive struggled to find a working contact form that works within Flash 10… they all get a #2101 error

hmmm, I’ve heard of Flash 10 having random problems like that. All I know is that published from CS3 and playing in Flash 10 it definitely does work, tested on multiple machines and browsers. But since I do not run CS4 I can’t 100% vouch for it if it’s published from there.

Hi MBMedia, i am using your contact form in a website i am working on and i am having a slight problem. when i press the send button it returns with a SEND FAILURE message, but when i check my email the message is in my inbox. I am using CS4 and publishing my file as FLASH 9 . Any help or advice would be appreciated. peace, deadvolt

FD changed some the embedding for the previews, and now it is not allowed to link to the test download. I have contacted them, and they said they would deal with it, but nothing seems to have been about it. You can download it here.

Every server handles things a little differently. There is a test in the PHP to determine if the mail sent correctly, and apparently your server isn’t handling it the same as most do. It’s going to send or not send the message consistently for each server, so the test is really for the developer to know it’s set up right. But since we already know it’s working for you, we can just remove the test, on line 25 of the php file, change “FAILURE” to “SUCCESS” and it should stop it from thinking the mail didn’t send.

Hello, As I am not really experiences user, it is probably not something tou could help me with: Warning The linkage identifier ‘fl.core.ComponentShim’ was already assigned to the symbol ‘Contact Form Assets/Component Assets/_private/ComponentShim’, and cannot be assigned to the symbol ‘Component Assets/_private/ComponentShim’, since linkage identifiers must be unique. – I am getting the message and I am puzzled… When put to a test, it hangs on “sending” stage forever…
