Hi. I want to use this in my menu. Is it possible to trigger the effect when i do a mouseover? And – My menu is not a font, it is vector. Does this only work on text fields? or can i add it to my menu, where every letter is a vector?

I’m afraid this really only works on textfields. In order to set it up you need to provide the instance name of a dynamic textfield in which the effect will occur 
.

Question: Is it possible to gets displayed text called from a XML file? Is it possible to gets displayed a Clock called whit AS2 ?
I can’t find any descriptions about.

Yes that’s possible. You can call upon the setText function as often as you want. The input for that function will be the text displayed by the object. So, if you have XML input that you want to show and stored it in a variable called “myxmlvalue”, it’s as easy as:
effect.setText(myxmlvalue);
If you have the time of a clock stored in a variable called “myclockvalue” :
effect.setText(myclockvalue);

I love this, would be great for my new (first here) project, but it’s for this site so I guess I can’t use a work which is not mine.
How can speed it up if the string is long? seems like the speed isnt changing at all and i want it really quick.
also i noticed that if you stay on this window…it keeps looping after awhile and goes through the animation again? why is that?

How long is the text you want to display? If it’s really long the effect will not be sufficient anymore.
Hi – we have 5 short one line paragraphs – it gets really slow cycling through the letters towards the end like its going through more and more random letters the furthur in it gets .
We have allready gone over deadline – can you help.
It looks great when previewd in the flash player and then sloww and un predictable timing in the browser.
Anyone else fixed this – i see it in past comments?

I’m afraid I haven’t found the solution yet for longer text appearing to remain animating longer in the browser than in the Flash movie itself. I’ll have another look tomorrow !

great animation!
I would like to show several words to appear one by one, using the same textfield. How can I add multiple words in the fla file? Is it also possible to loop this animation? Now it only shows once.

I don’t think it will be possible to show several animation in a single textfield. Why not use more than one dynamic textfield? Looping it is possible (as you can see when clicking on the preview here on ActiveDen), you can see how it’s done in the files included in the file package !

I am a little confused because the package is supposed to come with an XML example, but I don’t see one? I also don’t see documentation showing up to set up XML to communicate with this class. Could you assist?

? Anyway, since the effect is set up based on a a dynamic text, it is just a matter of translating an XML variable to that dynamic textfield !
In two locations:
1. Right below the ratings “File Types Included” 2. Inside “Item Attributes” under “Flash Files Included”

That is possible, but you need to do some tweaking! You can for example create a button which only plays the texteffect at rollover. If not rolledover, a regular textfield is filled with the button text. I can build it customized for you, send me an e-mail if you are interested !
Is there a fix for the value of changeSpeed not working in the browser?
Seems several people have had the problem, as do I.

When the speeds get to high, the updateAfterEvent can’t handle it anymore. Try using shorter texts or lower speeds !
How can i make it loop all the time, until someone click it ?

Hi, I bought this today, but I’m having some problems with IE (doesn’t matter the version), it seems that the text (I got 3 different instances of the same textfield) it’s going faster on IE than firefox, chrome or safari… What can be happening? Thanks a lot, I like a lot this product.

Apologies for my late reply! This has something to do with the Flash player handling a fast interval differently within the SWF itself and across different browsers. I’m afraid I can not change the difference in speed.
