Razor XML Slide Studio-Banner Creator/Rotator(AS3)

Hi Modulus, Great work. I absolutely love it!

However, I’m not being able to use it in my project; I don’t know how to do so. This is my case:

My project is a full-Flash site, and I’m loading every section/page as external SWF .

I want to use your file to create a banner that will stay in the main frame of the site, regardless of which section/page (SWF) is loaded.

Is there a way to do so? I must say I’m just a designer and not a programmer; so…

The Razor Rotator is working FANTASTIC !!!!

Just one issue – I am using music with my slides and I want to stop the music when I click to another page in my web site. How do I make it stop? I believe I need an unloadMovie script somewhere in the Razor actionscript. Perhaps in lines 126 or 643?

I just looked at what you suggested and I think that would be an “easy enough” way for me to go with. However, I’m going to look a bit more into this, because one of the most important things to me is being able to have my sites “CENTERED IN BROWSER ”. I guess there is a way to achieve this in html, but I don’t know how to do it.

I’ve been trying to find a way to “not to unload” a particular SWF without interfering with the other SWFs (sections/pages).

If you have any suggestion or can point me in the right direction to do this, I would appreciate it very much. Thanks again and take care,

I’m not sure I understand the “potential solution” you mentioned, but I’m looking for a very simple way to add a banner (with text and images) to a very simple website (I haven’t even used transitions at all).

I don’t want to abuse your kindness and take more of your time, but if you look at the site (www.UsaTuCupon.com), I believe you’ll see what I mean. The parent or Main file contains the layout and the xml menu (just two frames: one for the preloader and one for the layout. Every single page is called through the menu and shown in the main content area. As you’ll be able to see, nothing else change. The place where I want to place the banner is in the upper-right corner, where the picture of the girl is.

The xml menu uses an xml file and three .as files (Main.as, MainMenu.as and SubMenu.as). The Main.as file includes a script to unload the current SWF before loading a new one:

removeSWF(); //remove loaded swf (if any) if(obj.swf !=’’ && obj.swf != undefined && obj.swf != null) { loadSWF(obj.swf); }

Is there a way to load and keep Razor’s SWF into the main/parent file independently from the menu?

i have to buy a banner creator and rotator.. and this is looking good. one question:

- can i create banners of all sizes (any arbitrary size) - do i need to know any flash/web programming in order to use this?

I purchased and I love this Banner Creator! Awesome work!

Quick question..maybe its an easy mod but I’m not sure. I am trying to get this to load the xml file with using a query string set up in my html page rather than linking directly to the xml file in the actionscript.

IE:

I am familiar with doing this in AS2 but I cannot figure out how to code the actionscript in AS3 to handle this.

Hi – re: full screen. When using rounded corners adn you make the flash full screen (ctrl f).. the images stratch but the frame with rounded corners stays the same size as the original size?. can you send a fix for this? or suggest anything? cheers.

i’m a newbie buying activeden files and got very little knowledge about flash… got a question, is there a way to modify the file using the XML file but then just needing the .SWF to view it on a live site? i’m asking this because i will need to send the final file [.SWF] to be published on an ads manager that will only accept the SWF but not the XML or images folder… is there a way to accomplish this?

This looks like a fantastic banner rotator, I have a couple of questions tho…

1) Can I control the animation, so that it only starts playing once the play button has been clicked, and then once all the slides have played through returns to the first slide and stops until its activated once more?

2) Can a button on the swf’s that I load in be clickable? As in if I need to fire a function from a button placed on one of the swf’s will it be communicable?

3) Would I be able to place the little numbered slide icon inside a movieclip, so they are access from a drop down rather than just be on the stage?

4) Is there a button graphic for the sound? as in mute on/off, volume etc?

Apologies if I’m asking a lot, I just need a rotator that can do all of these things!

Here’s hoping as if its a yes to all of these I’ll be purchasing without a doubt!

Hi – love teh slideshow – works very well.

I have a question – i hope you can help out.

I have an intro swf – at the end of this i load the slideshow using var myLoader:Loader = new Loader(); myLoader.load(new URLRequest(“SlideShow.swf”));

works fine.. however at the end of the slidehow I want to go back to frame 1 of the original swf to play the intro again and then load the slideshow again etc.. so its a full loop with my intro as well rather than just the slideshow looping once called by the intro..

make sense? possible?

Great file! I am also having difficulties with .swf’s in the blocks (I want to use them in a block to take advantage of the transparency). Once they have played through once, they will not start from Frame 1 when user returns to that slide.

I see MovieClip(_media).gotoAndPlay(1); code in Slide.as, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

My swf’s are simple timeline animations, but AS2 . Is this the problem? Any advice? Thanks!

First, I want to say this is the most thoroughly documented and explained file I have ever bought!! Anywhere! You guys rock! And it is deep and all the help is so very important to a fairly new student struggling with Flash and AS3 like myself. So THANKS !!!!!

I am writing because I have some glitches that I can’t resolve when I add this swf file to another Flash template. It opens and plays beautifully by itself. I’ve added it into another file that will load swf’s , but the images are not cropping and moving in the right direction or at the right speed. There are only 8 images, so it’s not a huge file. Also, the controls do not appear when loaded and played in the other file. I deleted the animate node, as you told someone else, and that actually helped the images get closer to what I want. So somewhere it’s reading code that it shouldn’t or I’m missing some necessary instructions. Also, is there any way I can start/stop the slideshow and music at the same time while I am still on this page? So neither plays until I activate with control?

Any advice you can give me would be very much appreciated.
