Rocker Love XML Music Site

Originally this started as a site for musicians (of any type, the particular graphics and content is for display, and can all be changed in xml). But now that it’s complete I’m actually seeing that it is a great XML site for any use, since the only music specific page is the albums page. It is an xml driven site that comes with 6 built in pages driven off of XML with HTML /CSS text with an external CSS file for easy cross the board styling, but also has the ability for custom swfs and external urls. So versatility is something it’s got! Check out the features!

**** UPDATES ****

Download file has been updated, new features are a background looping mp3 player that silences during the playing of other content that has sound, allowances for tiled backgrounds as well as image backgrounds, allowances for the menu to be justified left, right, or center, and eased scrolling on all scrolling text fields.

Preview has not yet been updated, I’m working on it :)

**** UPDATES ****
Top Banner:
The top banner is XML driven and loads images or swf files and automatically and fluidly aligns them right, left or center, based on where you want them!
Backgrounds:
The backgrounds are XML driven. You can easily load in an image background OR multiple that will loop, fading from one to the next. Loop time is also editable in xml. You can also determine whether the background image(s) scale to fit fully maintaining aspect ratio or are just centered and displayed at the size they are. The non scaling option is great for having backgrounds that line up with the pages.
Menu:
The menu system is completely XML driven, and allows you to use one of 6 pre-built XML driven pages, load your own custom swf (AS2 or AS3 ) or image as a page, or link to an external url. The external url also allows you to determine “_blank” in the xml.
Bottom Text:
Bottom Text is HTML text that is editable via an XML file, so you can put whatever info you want, and even have links and an email address to click on!
Image and Text Page:
The image and text page is XML driven and can load an image or swf to on the left and show CSS /HTML text on the right. If the text is too long a scrollbar will appear to handle it. And content on the left is automatically scaled to fit correctly. This is useful as a homepage, a general info page, or as a contact page with info and links. An example in the preview is the Home page.
Simple Media Viewer Page:
This is XML driven and shows a series of thumbs along the bottom (images or swfs, AS2 or AS3 ), and when each is clicked it shows a larger view of an image or swf (AS2 or AS3 ) and description text that is HTML /CSS capable. When there are too many thumbs they autoscroll with your mouse, and when there isn’t they center themselves. This is good for a viewer for the people in your band (or company if your not a musician). It is also good as a simple to use media gallery page. In the preview an example is the The Band page.
Complex Popup Media Viewer Page:
This is an XML driven and extremely feature rich gallery. It allows images, swfs (AS2 or AS3 ), or videos in the thumb or full size views. It also seperates the galleries in different albums, so that you can have groupings of media for viewing. Each group of images gets an icon to generalize it’s content, and can contain any amount of content, which is paged through. The popup views fill all large as the content area is within the website based on the browser size. It can optionally have HTML /CSS driven text show in the popup view as well. Optionally in the xml you can allow the user to download the full size image/swf/video. A good use for a band is for music videos, concert pics and vids, etc. For others it is a great feature rich media gallery for your site. An example in the preview is the Media page.
Music and Albums Page:
This is an XML driven page made specifically to show off albums, album art, songs, and allow for purchases. Each album is shown in a menu on the left, with a small view of its album art. When clicked it shows larger album art, allows you to listen to the songs. It also allows for description text that scrolls if its too long. And it also has a subheader HTML text area that allows you to make a link out to where you are selling your CD such as cdbaby, or load in a flash paypal button for a paypal cart system with an img tag (paypal button not included, since implementation will depend on your use). An example in the preview is the Albums / Music page.
News and Schedule Page:
This is an XML driven page with an HTML capable menu of titles on the left that displays HTML /CSS driven text on the right for each when clicked. It also has a subheader that is HTML capable, allowing links. So not only is it great for a news page, but also for a show schedule. Because you can place links in the subheader for where to get tickets to the show, and have links for maps to get to the venue etc. But the uses for this page are as broad as your imagination, because it is simply an extremely efficient method of grouping and displaying data for users. Two examples in the preview are the News page and the Schedule page.
PHP Contact Page:
This page is a PHP contact form with field validation and all. It also loads a dynamically driven image or swf (AS2 or AS3 ) on the right. If you are not on a PHP capable server… Don’t Fret! The Image and Text Page also doubles as an info page for contact info and links! Simply use that as your contact page instead. An example of the php contact page is the Contact page in the preview.
Help Files:
There is a total of 18 pages of help files. All organized by a page with a menu for going through the help. Its a full fledge help section!
