Welcome to the Den, great new file. Makes me think about volume buttons
Cool idea could be very handy!
Hi,
Love the file. It seems to adapt to every situation. Nice thinking through on it’s possible uses.
I’m currently implementing it as a 360-degree product viewer controller. I’ve got everything all setup and it works great!
Anyway, I would like a nice polishing touch to the objects rotation by having the CLICK _TRACK rotation (actually the DRAG too) have some easing, so it come more gradually to rest. Right now, the 3D object spins in perfect unison with the slider, but it’s not smooth. It’s accurate but missing that sexy slow-down effect. Any help there?
FYI I’m currently using the event.target.name as the gotoAndStop value. That matches up with the images that are on those same frames numbers. Tick 1 equals frame 1, which equals image 1. Simple!
Thanks, -Eric
Hi, Eric.
You can use one of tweening solutions available to achieve your goal. Slider will provide you with target rotation value while tweening class can add some animation with ease to your object. So you can get value from slider and pass it to tweening class as finish value. There are Tween class available in AS3 , but I recommend you to use famous GTween created by Grant Skinner. It is licensed under the MIT license.
After clicking on the track, would it be possible for the thumb to slide into the new position instead of ‘jumping’ to it?
