digitalscience, if you’re referring to your team member menu, then you know that this menu functions very differently – its just the graphics that are the same – and you will also know that those graphics are pretty generic now a days.. but truthfully i wasn’t trying to copy your style – your style is awesome by the way and your FlashDen works are great.
Does this come in an AS2 file? If so I would buy it
Maybe I don’t understand this as well as I should before making a statement but It seems really difficult to add a function to each button also the graphics load within the file, I assume it wouldn’t be too difficult to load an external image but I would think this would have functioned that way. Really the only roadblock is just the difficulty of adding links or loading swf’s.
sherbs440, no, it’s AS3 .
idealbrand, I never said this was XML – I’m sorry you were disappointed. You could set it up for external graphics and links, but it would require for one to have at least some working knowledge of AS3 .

Hi, i would to comment this … ” idealbrand, I never said this was XML – I’m sorry you were disappointed. You could set it up for external graphics and links, but it would require for one to have at least some working knowledge of AS3 .”
i bought it it’s a very nice file but for me it’s not a menu if all the button send you to the same page …. but i will work on it to get the formula i need … and recreate my own .. but it’s not some work to do it’s everything to redo … Good try .. thks
hi again… so finally after 1h30 (i’m a newbie in Action Script) i’ve got something like this working … so i do appologie for my previous comment but you could delivery your script with this kind of code inside , it would helps newbs like me …
function butnClick(event:MouseEvent):void { var byId:int=(event.target.parent.memberclip.currentFrame); var byDesc:String=String(event.target.parent.desc.text); trace (byId); trace (byDesc);
}
by the way …. i really like your file …it’s very clean and well doc … Thks
modr, you don’t need to redo it. Although it’s not XML , it is set up so you can add in your own URLs for the links or set up your own functions. This is set up in the ActionScript and is commented. Thanks.
Thank you Christian, this is good stuff! What if I wanted different colors for each of the buttons inside of the MenuClip? And could you give me a newbie hint for setting up the urls. Can I re-use the array somehow?
Hi Goolie, thanks. If you wish to have different background colors, you could create a background movieclip just like it is done with the memberclip movieclip and tell them to go to the appropriate keyframe. And for the URL link outs, where the buttons are created (where the butn reference is given addEventListener calls), you would give it a property like num, so you would write butn.hit.num = i; and then on the butnClick function you would write if (e.currentTarget.num == 0) { (so this means the first button is clicked), then, navigateToURL(new URLRequest(“flashden.net”
); and } close it.
Thanks.
