It IS well documented, but I wasn’t aware that you shoul attach a help document. But the AS is documented in every line :-)

Yes, that’s no problem – the image is actually inside a movieclip, so just replace this!

Yeah sure, just load the image into the movieclip – the function automatically reads the size of the movieclip(the image inside of it).

Just change the size of the stage if you want the viewing area to be bigger!

i’m not sure i stated my issue correctly, please test this out. make a stage 900×400, have the flash link to a jpg image of 6392×400. when panning right the image is cut off. i hope that’s better worded. looking for solutions.

I’m working on a solution – the problem is not the file, but the size limit in Flash, see this link: http://underdevelopment.maravillaclan.net/?p=7

I’ll let you know when I figure out a workaround for larger images.

It turns out that this cannot be changed. So for all of you considering this file, be aware that you cannot load images larger than 2880×2880 px – it’s a damn shame, but there’s no way to get around this when dynamically loading images!

You CAN however use larger images IF they are imported into the flash file, either on stage or linked from the file’s library.

If anyone knows a quick fix (though Google don’t), please let me know!

thanks for your quick response, it makes sense as i’ve been having problems with this image over every panning solution i’ve found. i’ll try scaling my image back, thanks again for your support.

Question: Does the shape of the little “pan” box change if the shape of your picture changes?

TIA

No the pictures will always be rectangular (even if it’s a png with transparency) so the shape doesn’t need to change :-)

I just purchased. I like the way it works, but I need to mask the image once it is loaded! That’s important when including this movie as a module in a larger flash clip. Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks in advance.
