Can the button contain multiple lines? I’m interested in this for a scrolling events portal on my website.
thanks!!
I’d also want to disable the image section, and just have the scrolling text. I’m excited to try this one out!
@gregmiller,
1. You can have multiple lines on the scroll button, however it’s not naively supported (won’t position text automatically). You can change the height of the subH attribute in the XML file. Then, in the subMenu’s name attribute (contains the text), you can simply type what you need. If you need another line, hit enter in your editing program. This system wasn’t originally designed for multiple lines but I’ll throw it on my list for a next version.
2. This isn’t a supported feature but it can be done with some code editing. I intended the image component to be along side the scroller. It requires minor code editing but it is possible.
Thanks for your interest, this project was fun to develop.
Thanks for the feedback.
I’m going to have several questions to make it do what I want. If these questions cause you too much hassle, please let me know. My skills in Flash have been mostly as an animator and less as an OOP coder, but I’m interested in making this thing work so I’ll work to traverse the code and use good ‘ole trial and error to sort it all out.
Will this program accept CSS or will it take some major surgery? Might it be possible to use CSS to also position the text inside the button? this seems like the smartest approach.
Could you recommend other code that I might look into for this same purpose? I’m willing to pay for help if it is reasonable.
Greg, I went ahead and sent you an email.
The reason why the textField isn’t using CSS is compared to the full range of properties defined by the W3C , AS’s set of supported properties are extremely limited. It’s possible to define a style sheet. The DrawText class included is where you can define this. There is more info on the email I sent you.
