hi

im working with your scrolling txt xml flash file and when i change the xml in one actionscript everything changes in the other one to the same one. is there a way were you can have more than one scrolling txt in one file with different xml?

If you are using the “window_mc” movieclip twice in the same FLA (not importing the SWF )... what you need to do is select the one “window_mc” movieclip > right click > select ‘Duplicate movieclip’ and enter a new name, like “window_mc2”. Now edit “window_mc2” and in the Actions on frame 10, find the line below and change the path to the XML to the second XML file.

xmlData.load("content.xml");

Repeat these steps for however many times you need to use the window.

All you need to do is in the CDATA tag in the XML , use an image tag to embed images, Like so:

<img src="image.jpg">

Hi

Added the XML scroller in a normal html file, but the mouse-wheel is not focusing on the scroller, it is focusing on the browser.

I would like the scroller to be active when the user is using the mouse-wheel.

Please help.

Unfortunately that is default HTML behaviour… if the HTML page has a scroll bar and there is flash content with it’s own scroll bar.. the HTML page will take preference. Nothing you can do to correct this.

Hi DS,

Thanks for getting back to me.

There is no scroll bar in the browser (I have resized the main flash file for this purpose) I am loading the xml into a container (using loadmovie), not sure if this has an effect on the scrollbar.

hi,

first thing…this is a great file, easy to use and customize. thks

I have a little problem though. I’m using a flash xml editor that creates html tag such as :

<p align="LEFT"><font face="Arial" size="13" kerning="0" letterspacing="0" color="#FFFFFF"><b><u>Art en Fête</u></b></font></p>

The xml was loading perfectly before those tags were added. Now it just won’t work.

Thing is, those tags look legit to me. I’m stuck here.

Any thoughts?

Some of those tags are not supported with basic HTML Flash text… rather use this simple formatting.
