Hi, I’ve purchased this, and am almost done customizing to my needs.

I have one problem…

I use thumbnails that come from linked sources, and they are not all the same size. As a result, my thumbnails do not fit within the provided “frame”.

Can you provide a version of the .FLA where I can set the thumbnail size so that all thumbnails are “forced” to be that size? Thanks!

Hi there. The fix was simple – my noobie status is what made it hard. I created an Onloadinit for the thumbnail loadlistener and assigned the movie clip width and height to the thumbnail width and height variables. That way, all of my thumbs are now “forced” to the thumbnail size settings. Thus far, I’ve tested this with remotely linked thumbnails and all works well.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that my project using this code is almost finished. I am very pleased with the quality and relative ease of customizing. Again, I am a noob, but with some patience and reference material, it’s taken me only a few days working off and on to get this to work exactly as I need.

1) I bought the file and wanted to know if there is a way you can add a link without having to show the entire URL in the news display? and/or possibly adding the link in the middle of the description say connected to a specific word? (similar to an html link)
2) also, if I want to do some animation before the news reader displays do I put the action script layer in frame 1, or do I put in in the first layer I want to the news to show up?

1) You’ll have to edit the actionscript a bit for that so you nee some knowledge about that. You could find it pretty easily because the code is well commented.

2) You have to put the actionscript on the layer where you want the news to show up. It’s perhaps easier to put it seperate movieclip
