As far as opening the file, it is flash CS3 +, so you’ll need CS3 or CS4 to edit it.

But there is no background in the swf, it’s just the stage color, which can be edited in the embedding in the HTML .

If you want to resize the stage, then you can do so with Flash CS3 or CS4 , if you don’t have that version then you can just download a free trial at the adobe website, it is limited to 30 days but it does not use any watermarks or anything, it’s fully functional and usable :)

If you have any other problems just email me through my profile ;)

@ ruiganga

Well, I’m not sure how long the song is, but I just let it go for about a half hour, so unless it’s a longer mp3 than that it is definitely looping for me. Email me and we’ll try to figure out what the difference may be between what you and I are seeing :)

HI all

Hey MBMedia. first of all I want to thanks your help. My problems are fixed, and thanks to you I am using the file exactly the way I want.

Because I think more people may want to do the same as me I am posting what I did:

I wanted to apply the same sound volume as the pillPlayer. So the only thing I did was transform the file pillMP3Player.as in line 18 swap private to public.

Then in the same frame I paste the pill in my site I typed:

trace(myPlayer.track.volume); // myPlayer is the instance of mypillMP#Player :)

From here you can do whatever you want with the volume, Even silence the pillPlayer using AS3 .

I love this file :)

Thanks

Thanks again

Is there any chance of an AS2 version? can you have it load a random song on refresh?

AS2 is not capable of reading the sound spectrum for making equalizers that follow the music. So there will not be an AS2 version.

Very, very nicely done!

Simple, straight-forward, package based, OOP -focus… EXACTLY what I needed…

(Since I needed to) I’ve programmed a work around to dynamically load .mp3’s on the fly…just dropped in the right String from my master XML file…

...Your code is so good, just had to extend it… :)

Prior to reviewing your script, I knew very little about MP3 / audio management…now I know, thank you!

5 *’s for sure !

I am getting this error in ff3: SecurityError: Error #2122: Security sandbox violation: SoundMixer.computeSpectrum: http://hdwhatever.com/vtours/Main.swf cannot access http://s3.envato.com/files/117932/mp3s/CoreIssues.mp3. A policy file is required, but the checkPolicyFile flag was not set when this media was loaded. at flash.media::SoundMixer$/computeSpectrum() at local.display::SimpleMP3Track/playProgress()

Evidently it has something to do with the graphic equilizer trying to access other swfs on the page. Is there a fix for this?

Here is the site I am using it on: (remove space) hxxp://hds howings.com/vtours/index_new.php?order_id=134&w=1920&h=1200

sorry this is the error I was talking about: SecurityError: Error #2121: Security sandbox violation: SoundMixer.computeSpectrum: http://hdshowings.com/vtours/Main.swf cannot access . This may be worked around by calling Security.allowDomain. at flash.media::SoundMixer$/computeSpectrum() at local.display::SimpleMP3Track/playProgress()

Well, there’s a couple different things that could cause that, but regardless the solution is the same; just put this code into your main swf:

import flash.system.Security;
Security.allowDomain("*");

This is a general piece of code, so if you see that error with any other file you get it will have the same solution :)

VERY COOL looking little player! Now I have it – if only I knew how to use it! ha ha! I won’t ask tons of ??? I have gotten as far as loading the folder on my server & putting the player on my site. Doesn’t quite look like it does here, but it’s on my page none the less :) I even added my own mp3. But one ? Is there a source of information you could direct me to – on which I could learn how to put this extension into my site. I use a WYSIWYG program – with full access to HTML . I’m off to get Adobe. BTW – hope you’re enjoying the MI summer – 30 yrs in FL and I miss the cool summer nights you have!

SecurityError: Error #2121: would it be possible for you to add the fix

(import flash.system.Security; Security.allowDomain(”*”);

and redistribute for us poor people who don’t code Flash? Would gladly repurchase, or otherwise pay for the update.

Thanks so much for your attention.
