Hi,

as i replied to your email as well, for some reason the mouse wheel will not work in the mac plugin. It might need another kind of detection, or it cannot work with the mouse wheel at all Will update people here on the matter.

I purchased this a while back and love it. There is one improvement that I would LOVE to see (in fact, I would gladly pay all over again for it) and that is this.

!!! Enhancement request !!! Each “portfolio” entry should have multiple images that a user can click-through on demand. In other words, lets say portfolio page 3 is the brand new widget-2000. When users first arrive to page 3 they see the product in all of its glory; and off to the side of the image their might be a series of thumbnails (lets say 3 to keep it simple) When those thumbnails are clicked by the user, he gets to see alternate views of the same product (maybe variations in color, or product in-use shots)

The point it, each product deserves more than one image, but spreading those images across multiple “portfolio entries” gets them all jumbled up with other projects and makes the whole portfolio ‘flow’ a little wacky.

Is this a huge stretch for the current code or is it attainable? how about inducing lag, would it be troublesome in that respect? (open to all responses from other developers on this, im just not familiar with this sort of thing.

@Another-Bryan: Not really sure you are still monitoring for my reply :) Anyway, what you describe is neither hard, nor difficult. Actually, a well known fact in flash files is that a general rule of the thumb applies, that you can import ANY other swf file (almost). So, what this means for you and all the other users is that you can use sliding portfolio as your “base” file and load all kinds of different gizmos and widgets and viewers into each slide!

I know this functionality would be great from the get go, but when we first built this file, there were no plans for this and adding it now is a bit late. Maybe if we create a version 2.0 of the file, where lots of other stuff gets addressed. That would rock, but this means that i need lots of suggestions, not just this one. :)

Can the current version load swf files instead of images or does it require modification to do that?

Hi, as it clearly says in the details of the file, this file uses as3 as the programming language, so no, its not possible to make this work in flash player 8, it will never be possible.. I heard there is a way you can load as3 content into as2 files, which would maybe make this possible by creating an as2 file that would load this in place.. Never tried it, not even sure it can happen, just saying i recently read something like that. Else, someone that buys this, needs to convert all the programming, which is not really a hard thing to do, especially if you think that each line is commented!

I would like to purchase this file, but I have a couple of questions:

Can I load approx 20 image slides (jpg or png ) ?

And 10 to 12 videos (30 sec. quicktime commercials) ?

And be assured it will download & function smoothly?

Thanks! I think it’s a great looking/functioning file! My compliments!

I look forward to seeing more of your work in the same kind of style.

Hi,

i need to try that, however 20-30 images can be easily added with no problem.. Video functionality is through the flvplayback component and not though something in the template, which means you will need to create video playing swf files for all of your videos, unless you already have a video player and can use that :)

However, i am not really sure you can do that many videos at once without flash stuttering up.

Hi again,

Thanks for your information. And honesty. I’m going to purchase and try a few less videos, and see how it works. And go from there… I’ll let you know how it works.

At this point, it’s all a big learning curve for me.

Thanks!!!

thanks for reporting :) Will fix that and upload the edited files.

Of course, as you can understand, its not my flash file’s problem, but something in the html page instead. Which means that the file has no problem at all, just preview it in another browser, buy it if you need and i will send you the fixed html file asap even if its not uploaded to flashden yet. Dont worry about it.
