This was exactly what I needed. I looked all over the place for something that does just this. Yes, you are right, there are tons out there that control FLVs, and many that control a scrolling movie clip, but yours is the first that I have found that actually controls the timeline of a movie.

You rock! I may purchase more of your stuff, even if I don’t need it as I would have paid much more for this script alone!

I need to add a Stop button, so when you click on it it takes you to frame 0 of the current animatoin and brings the scrubber to _x=0 position;

Can you help me with that piece of code? I would appreciate it.

It will scrub through audio just fine if it is set to streaming in the layer.

Is there a way to add a mute button since the audio has to be on the layer? I have only been able to find mute buttons that are controlled by dynamically loading the audio.

I’ve noticed with my swf file that if I drag the slider back to zero my swf doesn’t start at zero. To restart my swf or see the first few frames I have to drag the slider all the way to the right.

I’m not sure why that is?

I was very disappointed. You made it sound like it was a standalone flash player in which I could simply write the name and size of the flash file in xml or html and this would play it like a flv player. Instead you have to import the flash using Macromedia and then reexport it with the player. This would take me all night to do the files I need to do. Plus many of the files I have are copyright protected by the authors, whom I work for, and they give to me simply to put on webpages. So I cannot access their flash and have never needed to. I just wanted to add some simple controls on the web page.

I know it was only 5 bucks, but it is totally useless to me.

I need to know how to make the swf stop loading and not auto play until the play button is used.

I’ve purchase, but disappointed that it doesn’t control the sound within the swf file. I can stop and start the graphics, but the sound just keeps playing. PLEASE ADVISE .

I was wondering if it’s possible to load a movie stopped and then preload it when the play button is pressed. I need to have 5 animations on one page (each one is 1MB) so I wouldn’t like if they all start playing at the same time. I would really appreciate if you could do that

Ok! I don’t need a preloader. All I need is to start the movie stopped until I press the play button. I tried coding something on my own but I’m no good with coding. I’m surprised how you managed to get so much out of so little code. So can you help me with my little request?

Hi…purchased this file and really like it.

Just have one issue: your sample shows a preloader in the SWF that appears to work. But when I use your file, it totally ignores every single preloader I’ve tried (all AS2 ) and just starts playing the SWF . Although it can control it fine, the SWF will stop in the beginning and wait til it has downloaded more.

Can you recommend a preloader that works with your file in AS2 ?

Never mind….I customized the one you had in your sample file and it works fine.

Funny how all of the other ones I have purchased on flashden don’t work…

It works for me, but the swf starts immediately. I need it to start when the arrow is pushed. I see other similar comments but no responses to this problem. I got it to work, I put a stop action on the actual file but had to set it to version 2.
