I might have a little stupid question so please bear with me. Is it possible to use this flash scrollbars as a plugin (or someway else) with Frontpage?

Svalewebdesign…I know that FrontPage is a HTML editor.This component you can use in Flash Projects and I don’t know how do you want to use this component as plugin. Maybe with some JavaScript if you want to add it as scrollBar for your site!

I just want to use the scrollbar in websites, but I don’t use any programs that can edit flash files like adobe Flash… Is it possible to insert this scrollbar manually, if I have the script?

The scrollBar component does not in CS3 with dynamic text box with text content. I works in your Example file, but only with CSS and XML and relies on additional coding. For the simple text box you’re loading the scrollbar from the library and then use AS to set the parameter. Which defeats the purpose of using the control panel. Besides, I need to use TWO scrollbars, and I just can’t figure it out. Basically, I want to use this scrollbar instead of the the default UIScrollBar. It’s no go. I don’t get it. Don’t I just move the new ScrollBar component onto the stage, give the text box an instance name and then reference that instance name in the component’s TextPath parameter? Do I need to add more AS after that? I thought one could either use AS or the component control panel (parameters)... All I see is a static scrollbar with gray color all around, of some default size. Help! s

OK, never mind – I’ve figured it out. I need to put scrollName.scrollBarStart(); into the AS layer… s

Is it possible to use fixed scroll Height. Now if i have a litlle too much text i have a very big scroller if i have a lot of text than scroller is smaler, depends of text size…

The scrollBar have a minimum height so you can select it if you have very much text.

Hi. I used Adobe Extension Manager to install this component into Flash CS3 , but it’s not showing up in the components palette. Then I tried to copy the component from the library of your sample file and that didn’t work.

I also tried using the AS from the sample file, but that doesn’t seem to be working either.

Any tips?

Step 1 .Open Extension Manager . My path is : C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Extension Manager\Extension Manager.exe.

Step 2 .Select Flash CS3 .

Step 3 .File>Install Extension . Give the path to my ScrollBar component !

Step 4 .Accept !

Step 5.Restart FlashCS3.

Step 5.From FlashCS3 select Window>Components>Standard Components.

For Macintosh users !

Copy “scrollBarText.swc” in “user/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS3 /en/Configuration/Components” and it will work !

Question. Is there any way to edit the look of the scrollbar besides the colors and dimensions? I’d like to make it look more grunge in keeping with the project I’m working on. I’d basically just want to swap out the original graphic(vector) with new ones.
