VERY VERY GOOD … CONGRATULATIONS
VERY VERY GOOD … CONGRATULATIONS
Hey, I like this component, I have one question, though… I’ve been trying to load it inside another movie and its not working for me. How can I achieve this?
Thanks,
I really wouldn’t advise loading this into another player – it is much too large and heavy to be used as such. There can also be issues with the code, etc. Please email with a link to the problem and hopefully we can figure something out. Copy and pasting the whole thing into another FLA would be better. Thanks.
Ok, the thing is I want to load it several times in the same file, as to create a categorized gallery for a photographer friend I have. What I’m attempting is to place four butons (industrial, commercial, weddings, artistic) and I want to reuse the gallery for each section within the same movie.
Sorry, but buttons next previous doesn’t work after several click. Flash player 9 on Mac OSX with firefox
this is working great!
few questions:
i’m using this as a gallery in a web site that has a FS BG . i see i can set the BG color in the XML but how do i remove the background all together?
how do i make it goto the next product section with the next arrow? rather then having nested images in a section i want one in each. I hope it can just go to the next visible image in the display?
also where would i find the follow mouse event for the btns?
In the code, you can just comment out the line which fades in the background, keeping it at an alpha of 0 (transparent). That isn’t how the file works and would require a bit of editing to achieve what you’re looking for. Everything is found in the Controller.as file in the com folder – all the code. Please email me if you would like modification work done. Thanks.
cool thanks for getting back to me. i should have paid more attention to what it was doing or not doing.
it’s a shame that it can’t go to the next section.. it functions very well, but it’s missing the logic of a gallery.
thanks anyway
Hi, I really like the component but I was trying to do the same as gporte, I want to load the gallery inside a bigger site I’m building.
I get this error: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at theSpineProductGallery_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()
Any idea what could be wrong? What should I change on the FLA or AS files if the whole thing is inside another movie?
Thanks a lot! Andrew
Yes, you need to edit it a bit – the error you are getting is because you need to almost delete all the code on the first frame of it because it preloads and loads XML so you need to handle that in a more complete way to fit your whole file. Please email me if you would like modification help. Thanks.
now im diggin this gallery alot… very Mac OS X -ish
hi – my client loves the component but wants to be able to hyperlink from the chosen image. Is this possible?

I have the very same problem…
Hey, I’m having slight problems with the image loader, check it: http://www.studiobaxter.com.mx
For some reason it loads the images on the first set of galleries from left to right but doesn’t load the ones in the middle and far end (try the old guy). When I load the gallery locally it loads everything.
The images aren’t to big, nothing above 150kb I think,
Heeeelp!
Thanks Gastón
Yeah, the loading seems to stop but I’m not getting any other errors, which is odd. It’s also giving me an error that a javascript file is missing… Please check that you have all the necessary files on there and your XML is correct. If you still need help, please email me. Thanks.
Hi there,
great component u got
... i have some questions:
Here is the link to what i am working on. http://www.faclientservice.net/adworx/3/
first off… i wanna reduce the speed of the movement of the images, it seems to be too fast.
second… I dont want it to scroll when my mouse is anywher on the screen, but only when my mouse is in the area of the gallery itself.
lastly.. the arrows that show next and previous when we are inside a category, is it possible to keep it fixed on the left n right side of the image, instead of mouse following…
these were usability issues wich i encountered when i tested it with normal users… though i am really pleased with the result that came out.
Thanks in advance.
Muhsin
1. In the Controller.as file code, on line 707, replace the number 10 with a higher number, 30 or 50 for example. 2. This needs a mouse position detection script, which I can add for you for a small fee. 3. I can also modify the file for you to take away the mouse following and just keep the arrows static for a small fee. Please email me if you would like the modification work done. Thanks.
H Christian, I don’t find where I can change the opacity (or color) of the gray background displayed behind the images after clicking the thumbnails (which covers the menu items). Can you help me ! Philippe
Thanks Christian, But the properties of whiteBox movieclip does not act on the whole backgroung of the stage which turns gray after clicking on the menu. Regards, Philippe
Oh, that is a image clip that darkens the stage when a thumbnail is clicked so you can see the image you clicked on better. This is much more complicated to change. In the code of the Controller.as file, a movieclip called dimmer is created and you would have to change the color of that in the code. I could do this for you for a small fee. Please email me if you would like modification work done. Thanks.
Thanks, I have done the modification Regards
Thanks for the reply Christian.. i have controlled the speed now
will email u abt the rest…
is it possible to add margins for the items so they appear a little separated ?
