Do you mean that you do not have flash software (CS3, CS4 etc.) to edit the FLA files? No problem… you can just use the XML file to add your own categories and images.

Yes, you can load SWFs… but bitmap smoothing is applied after image/swf is loaded. So, you will be able to see just the first frame of the swf and it will not play.

So, the solution is… wherever the image is loading in action script (2 places)... just remove the 3-4 lines of code which trace smooth bitmap out of the loaded image. OR, make it conditional if it is an SWF do nothing… otherwise make the image smooth.
