Awesome theme. I have two questions.
1 – Unable to get the images in gallery to link to a url.
2 How can I force facebook to land on the app in facebook when users are logged in. At the moment users land on the wall which I do not want and I have changed the settings in the page edit page.

Hi I have just purchased your template and I am using 110mb.com as my server. I am not a techie, but I have no idea how to upload the files and implement your template into my facebook fan page. I would appreciate a bit of guidance. I thought it would be easier, but Im going wrong somewhere with the files. Please help Maz
You just need to upload your files (index.html, fb_flash.swf, fb_data.xml and swfobject.js) on one server. The images can be uploaded anywhere and image paths should be entered on the xml file (better if you use absolute paths).
To create the app and tab on facebook, follow the instructions on help files and contact me through my profile page in case assistance needed.
Can this template support self hosted videos from my own site or is it only youtube and vimeo?
It supports only youtube and vimeo files. This can’t directly load FLV or similar formats.
Where is the author ? I´m wainting for answers for 6 days !!!

Hi Vf, My fan page and applications are set up. I know how to access and understand the facebook part of things. The issue is, how to point these files to the application. As I state I am not technical, so when you say images should be entered via xml file or absolute paths, I have no idea what that means. I have attempted to upload the files to my server using 110mb.com but i do not know what do from that point owards.
I just replied to your email. After uploading the files, make sure that you are able to view the template by typing the link on the browser address bar directly. Something like this: www.my_website.com/my_folder/index.html
If that works, proceed with help instructions mentioned in the 3rd help file. If that doesn’t show anything, send me the link through my profile page and I will go through.

One question: Do you know how I can integrate FBML into this? Previously I would use “fb:visible-to-connection” and “fb:else” in a static FBML tab so that a welcome page would only display to users who hadn’t “liked” the page yet. Not sure how to do this using the new iFrame/App setup. Do you know how to do it?
Not sure, but you can check the settings page of your app in facebook for any options.
Hi VF, I have a question for you: I am making changes in XML file but when i upload files in server to see online, i see no change , i see same text, same images, same tabs, same colors, Kindly tell me know how to refresh the XML browser cache i have removed, ctrl+5 i have used. changed the name of directory but the issue is not going away. How to refresh the XML ? Thanks VF
If you just clear the browser cache (temporary internet files) then it should work.
Another alternative is adding query string to the xml path. For example, do this:
- In the index.html file, you can see the following line:var so = new SWFObject("fb_flash.swf", "flash_tab", "520", "693", "9", "#FFFFFF");- Below that line, add this line:so.addVariable("xmlPath", "fb_data.xml?q="+new Date().getTime());Hi,

Yes, this template supports any characters. The default version will support only basic English and few basic latin characters. For more language character support, the source package contains different files. Note that to support those characters, the fonts used may differ from preview. So contact me through my profile page, I will show you are preview and then if you comfortable, proceed to purchase.
What do u change in those cases to make those characters work? Is it a template issue? Or is it a utf-8 issue?
It is slightly a file size issue which is common for any font embedding web application. There are around 10 character sets (including Japanese, chines etc) which doesn’t require embedding unless needed.
For your case, if you just need to display those 3 characters Æ Å Ø, it will not add file size. If you need to add full set of characters similar to those, then fiel size may increase around 50-100ks. If you contact me through my profile page, I will show a preview and let you know the file size.
Hi I love this FB Fan page design, but I cannot implement it. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong and was hoping you could help me find my error.
I have followed your detailed direction and still have come up short. I’m a programmer too, so this is quite embarrassing.
I’ve also gone so far as to contact my web host. This was their reply:
“I visited department99.com/facebook. The index.html page loaded with appears to be fb_flash.swf embedded within it. It is running, at least giving the loading animation. I do notice it is trying to load data from vimeo.com. I am not sure if it is waiting for certain data before the flash file will play the rest of the way.
If you are concern the Flash file is not working, it is at least loaded into the browser. We offer no support for any error within the Flash file. Please let us know if his is not the correct error to replicate.

I did create the tab through Facebook developer. I’m sure I’ve done something completely wrong.

Yes, it is possible to add your own icon through the app settings.
I have everything working on my server, but when I attempt to put this onto my Facebook page, I get the tab, but the page gives me an error message:
Method Not Allowed The requested method POST is not allowed for the URL /facebook/index.html.
What have I don’t wrong?
Replied to your email. Renaming the index.html into index.php is the solution.

<![CDATA[ TWITTER FEED ]]>I can send you the swf file’s directory in private. The problem I have is that sometimes I can see both FEED tabs working and sometimes it can’t. For example, in Facebook I saw the twitter feed working but I refreshed and it stopped working and suddenly after a wile its starts working again.

I just went through the temporary internet files to check what it returns with the url. It returns an xml file with the following data:
This means either your page has much traffic which exceeds allowed privileges or something. That should be the reason for working / not working sometimes.
Also another link doesn’t return any xml file, probably due to same reason.

Both my web hosting companies replied that it’s seem to be a code, script error inside the template. According to Google the error you’ve posted above has to do something with twitter’s api limit. I’ve sent you a message through your profile page and via yahoo with the hml a week ago with no answer. After I saw your test page I realized it has to be something wrong with the hml as your feed page still works fine after 150 entries and my stops after 2 entries. Please check it out…

I contacted you last week, when Im logged into facebook, even on a differant computer and differant account, the fanpage doesnt work properly. When I click from the app’s page to another page, the page doesnt load. Its a black screen but if you hit refresh the correct page appears. Im haveing to use an index.php and I cleared my cookies btw.
