Avast there me hearties! Or perhaps it should be ‘Sheathe your wand, Master Gandalf, there’s treasure ahead!’ Whatever your scenario – dungeon crawler or dastardly adventure on the high seas – this is the prefab for you.
My debut Unity 3D object consists of this fully interactive treasure chest, battered and tarnished from years of happy pilfering/salt water spray etc that works pretty much from the moment you plop it into your scene. Open the chest to reveal the gold within (tastefully enhanced by flickering light and Unity particle effects), bring up the pop-up window to tell you how much it’s worth and…loot it!
Sample scene consists of the chest, its pop-up window, flickering fire-like lights and the dank tunnel in which you find it. The treasure chest has its well-commented script. The various animations use ITween.
The HUD display showing you how much gold you have and the wall torches shown in the preview are not included.
If you think I’ve missed an opportunity, or would like to see an added feature or you find a bug that I’ve overlooked or have a general question, please get in touch with me via my profile on Active Den. Don’t post questions in the comments section, only because I might not always get to see them.
But please comment if you like and rate if you buy!
Have fun with that one and happy looting!
