Charlie, your email server is rejecting my message.

Laco Tweening was installed from outset, and the downloaded swf file works fine. Even added my own pics to xml file to test – OK.

Problem is in publishing from the downloaded fla file. Just can’t get it to play beyond the cursors appearing in the middle of the screen.

Unfortunately I need to adapt your gallery to work with ColdFusion, so I need to republish.

@ acee – I’m sorry, but my e-mail is messed up. I hope to have it working tomorrow. Anyway this still looks like a Tween installation problem to me. Pictures only start loading after the cursors move and that is why the movie doesn’t work properly.
The dowloaded swf works fine, because it was published on a computer that has the tweens working properly. If you change XML file it will work too, because it is dynamic.
Please send me a message through Flashden, because I placed an alternate e-mail now. Tell me what version of Flash are you using and I will explain how to install Laco tweens.

@ acee – Please follow this steps to install tweens in CS3 :
1) Download mxp file from http://laco.wz.cz/tween/?page=download
2) Install it using Macromedia Extension Manager
3) Place the file lmc_tween.as on your folder C:\Documents and Settings\{your username}\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Flash CS3 \{language}\Configuration\Include\ . This final step is not always necessary. You can get this file on the same link as above if you choose to download the zipped version.

@Charlie Thanks for the help on installing the extension – that’s working fine now.

I’ve modified the movie to pull the filename info from a database via ColdFusion. Simple to do and works a treat.

I’m now trying to modify the menu positions and format, which is proving challenging, given my limited Flash knowledge.

Could you please tell me where to look for the script that hides the menu cursors? I’ve found the one for ‘mov_back_right’, but the others are eluding me!

@ acee – When things get a bit technical I prefer using e-mail. So please e-mail me if you need more help/info. Anyway here goes a brief explanation:
Top menu: Inside mov_but_menu select but_menu and check actions layer (rollover event);
Left menu: Inside mov_but_left_menu and check actions layer (rollover event); category buttons;
Bottom menu: Third frame actions layer line 76 (rollover event for thumbnails);

Hi Charlie78 this is an awesome file that im real keen to buy, was just wonderring how hard it would be to add a description box for each photo once its been pressed. Would be really keen to buy if so

@ bmaglinger – the correct filename is Lmc_tween.as. You have to install Tweening Prototypes you can get at http://laco.wz.cz/tween/?page=download. If you need help installing check this link http://www.munto.net/flashden/

Hi Charlie, I’ve finally got the viewer running at my UK Hotels & Attractions website.

I’m really pleased with the way this works. I’ve made a couple of minor mods, the best of which is using proportional x and y scale for the scale to fit; depending on if the photo is landscape or portrait it scales to the match the height or width of the stage which then makes your excellent gallery ideal for viewing panoramic and tall/portrait photos without distortion.

Just purchased and currently don’t see an xml item to allow a backlink to a start point in a website. Is this an upcoming mod or should I just go ahead and implement this myself.

Purchased and ran file. Very nice and would work well for my project. However, the full screen function is not behaving as in your example. The file as extracted when the “go to full screen button” is selected simply changes to “go to normal screen” without any change in display and or on screen messge. Selecting the button again has no response. Since I have not modified this file I am guessing there may be some issue with running this file with CS3 ? Any ideas? Thanks!

@ sjkoi – It should have to do the HTML file you are using to embed it. I’m running it on CS3 with no problem. Send me an example/link by e-mail if you still need some help. Good luck!
